Insights From the Book of Enoch | Voice of God with Joseph Z
Today, Joseph Z offers profound insights into the Book of Enoch, its historical significance in the Ethiopian Coptic Church, and its connection to the New Testament. He also explores the story of the fallen angels and what led to their rebellion.
Joseph shares insights into the Book of Enoch, exploring its history and origin. He explains that the first thirty-six chapters of the Book of Enoch have long been considered scriptural within the Ethiopian Coptic Church, which claims the apostle John as its founder. Additionally, it is recognized as one of the significant Jewish pseudepigrapha, writings attributed to authors other than the actual writers.

Next, Joseph discusses certain passages from the Book of Enoch that were quoted by Jesus in the New Testament. He references Jude 1:14-15 to highlight how one of Jesus's brethren quoted Enoch 1:9. He also cites Enoch chapters 6, 7, 8, and 9 to shed light on the story of the fallen angels. This story illustrates how the watchers, assigned by God to oversee humanity, fell from grace by lusting after the daughters of men and descended to earth to defile themselves with them.
Joseph further examines how the devil attempted to use the watchers to rebel against God once again, as well as how he tried to tempt Jesus (the last Adam) into relinquishing the authority regained from Adam's fall, but ultimately did not succeed. He points to 1 Corinthians 15:45 to show that Jesus, the last Adam, became a life-giving spirit, as he defeated the devil and rescued us from eternal damnation with him. Joseph reminds us that the world is created for our benefit, and Jesus came to reclaim what the devil stole through our cooperation as His Church. He urges us to rise and pursue the high calling of God in our lives. The video: https://youtube.com/live/DJXUYyptoRg
