Fairy tale part “2” SOS I don’t need help!

When you get near people who are pursuing their heart’s desire, you can see the expression on their faces. However, in most people’s faces it’s more likely that you see some kind of tension or a mask.  Life is just too short to live without a clear direction, a kind of focus or even better if you’re driven by purpose. Isn’t it?

Today, there is more than enough evidence...

....about what is required for people who call themselves happy. What is it than that fulfilled people have in common? Am I referring to material wealth? Success in general? Intimate relationship or health? According to (not only but also…) Harvard psychologists, happy people have mainly two things in common: They know exactly what they want and they feel they are moving toward getting it. That’s what makes life feel great: when it has direction, when you are headed straight for what you truly enjoy.  It’s not about what you’re highly skilled at.

I don’t really care what your skills are.

Your greatest talents don’t necessarily have to show up in your skills. All of us are good at things we’re not madly in love with. And most of us have talents we’ve most likely haven’t even used yet. Relying on your skills to guide you will lead you in the wrong direction. That’s why I’m not really into personality tests or skills assessments to find out what you should be doing, ultimately.

What if you want to do something meaningful?

Something which drives you mainly if not purely intrinsically. By that, I am referring to an occupation, career or job, which you really feel connected with. What if your direction is unique? Unique like your own fingerprint? Imagine you could do something you are truly gifted at. Only a deep level of intrinsic motivation will give you the drive to stick to something until you developed your gift. That’s the way really big things get accomplished in this world. Think of Elon Musk, Richard Branson, Roger Federer or even people you might know personally.

These people don’t think already on Monday what they’re going to do on the weekend. These people also don’t have thoughts about their retirement, because for them, there is not such a thing like retirement. Depending on where you are right now in your life, career or job, this might even sound scary to you. You might be thinking: Wtf? My life is happening during the weekends and I can’t wait being retired…!

Either way, what I’ve figured out...

... the last (almost) twenty years is that there are three kind of people. The first group, the minority, they are making things happen. They know what they want and they go for it. You wouldn’t believe it but they even reach out for help! But I might get to that point later on… The second group of people they too, know pretty much what they want but they simply don’t go for it. Then there is the third group of people. They simply don’t have a clue what they want. And it makes them seek and tired. You might have heard about limiting beliefs and negative emotions. I will touch on that further down the way. This might encourage you – at least for a couple seconds…

You are not alone!

There are statistics out there, which show that as many as way above 90 percent of employees are unhappy in their jobs and careers.
