DO YOUR WORK WITH THE FEAR OF GOD

15 THEN THE KING OF EGYPT SPOKE TO THE HEBREW MIDWIVES [nurses], of whom the name of one was Shiphrah and the name of the other Puah;
16 AND HE SAID, “WHEN YOU DO THE DUTIES OF A MIDWIFE FOR THE HEBREW WOMEN, AND SEE THEM ON THE BIRTHSTOOLS, IF IT IS A SON, THEN YOU SHALL KILL HIM; BUT IF IT IS A DAUGHTER, THEN SHE SHALL LIVE.”
17 BUT THE MIDWIVES [nurses] FEARED GOD, AND DID NOT DO AS THE KING OF EGYPT COMMANDED THEM, BUT SAVED THE MALE CHILDREN ALIVE."
Exodus 1:15-17 (NKJV)

In the passage above, It would be noted that the midwives did not do what the authority, the king of Egypt, told them to do—kill the newborn male children of the Israelites—because the midwives or nurses feared God (Exodus 1:17).
A believer in Christ Jesus should endeavour to do his or her work with the fear of God. You should not disobey God's written word because you want to please or obey your boss or those in government—authority.

There are believers who put God and His word aside when they do their works. They would not want to hear about God when they do their works. They usually say, this is business or money matter, do not talk about God nor get God involved in it. Now, If you would not want God to be involved in your monetary affairs, Who then should be involved? Remember, you professed to be a believer and you pray to this same God to bless and establish the work of your hand (Psalm 90:17); How come now, because of money, you would not want to hear God mentioned in your business dealings?

A professed believer in Christ Jesus should have the fear of God in whatever he or she is doing, as the Hebrew midwives did (Exodus 1:15-17). When your boss or the government of the day gives an order or instruction that is contradictory to what God says in His word, the Bible, you should not obey or do what they say (Acts 4:19).
If you did fear and honour God by being obedient to His word, not taking sides with your boss or government of the day that gives contradictory instructions, you would be rewarded. The Hebrew midwives were rewarded because they feared God:
20 GOD WAS GOOD [showed favour] TO THE NURSES [midwives]. AND THE HEBREW PEOPLE CONTINUED TO GROW IN NUMBER, SO THEY BECAME EVEN STRONGER. 21 BECAUSE THE NURSES [midwives] FEARED GOD [Prov. 1:7], HE GAVE THEM FAMILIES OF THEIR OWN" (Exodus 1:20,21 Expanded Bible).

If I may ask, how are you doing in your political appointment, or career, or in the carrying out of your business dealings? Are you doing all you are doing with the fear of God or you are being dubious and would not want to hear about God and His principles?
Remember, power is transient, the position of authority you are in the present government would not be forever, another person would be there tomorrow; If you did do it well or not, you would be remembered for whatever you do.
Also, know that you, as a believer, will give account of your stewardship when you meet with Jesus Christ, and stand before your Creator: "FOR WE MUST ALL APPEAR BEFORE THE JUDGMENT SEAT OF CHRIST, THAT EACH ONE MAY RECEIVE THE THINGS DONE IN THE BODY, ACCORDING TO WHAT HE HAS DONE, WHETHER GOOD OR BAD" (2 Corinthians 5:10 NKJV).

And also as an unbeliever, If you are yet to be born-again, you would appear at the white throne judgement, before God, where you would be judged according to your deeds on the earth (Revelation 20:11-15). However, If whoever is not reborn or born-again would not end in destruction, let him or her accept Christ Jesus as their Lord and Saviour today:
1 WE THEN, AS WORKERS TOGETHER WITH HIM [God] ALSO PLEAD WITH YOU NOT TO RECEIVE THE GRACE OF GOD IN VAIN. 2 FOR HE SAYS: “IN AN ACCEPTABLE TIME I HAVE HEARD YOU, AND IN THE DAY OF SALVATION I HAVE HELPED YOU.” BEHOLD, NOW IS THE ACCEPTED TIME; BEHOLD, NOW IS THE DAY OF SALVATION" (2 Corinthians 6:1,2 NKJV).
Peace.
