When Christians Sin in Secret

For those who don't know who Ravi Zacharias is, he was a Christian apologist known all over the world, respected by many and acknowledged as someone who inspired many others to pick up their crosses and follow Jesus.
He has been found guilty of sexual misconduct in the last few months by his own organisation. This unfortunate news comes many months after his death.
My question:
How do we balance the good and the bad actions of a person? Do his good works for the church make up for his sinful behavior? or does his sinful behavior cancel all his work for the church?
