Marugame Matchlock Samurai Part 2

Marugame, Shikoku, Japan, Historical event
Wow hit over 200 followers, thank you for taking interest. Continuing from my last post here are some closer images of the Matchlock Samurai. In the image below they are using a long barreled gun and a second samurai is holding the barrel steady. I can't imagine how loud it must be to have it resting on your shoulders.
I presume its too heavy to fire without support and something is needed. As you can see black powder is creating a large amount of smoke when fired. To clear the smoke there was a 5 minute break between volleys.
You can see a lot more detail to their equipment. Some of the equipment looks pretty modern, probably easier to use than some unreliable recreation.
You can also see the stances they take as they fire. They would wait for the order and let loose the shot at the same time. the shots were very loud and echoed around the castle grounds and made most of the audience jump.
The muskets them selves also seem to be made with high quality in mind with a nice wood finish. Around their belt you can see spare parts, wick, a box for i presume is ammunition and large bottle like item that may contain block powder.
They also allowed people in the crowd to hold the guns and pose with them which i will show in my next post.
Thanks for viewing, my posts are about the journey, the process and showing my experiences. Where there are a lack of words I like my work to speak for its self. Don't hesitate to ask questions.
