Nozawa onsen is about 2.5 hours by train from Tokyo. It has a world class ski resort and natural hot springs that you can enjoy both at public bathhouses or hotels. The small town is rustic and cozy with a few simple restaurants and eateries. A nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo.
