I chose this article from the Aljazeera ’news’ page randomly. The writer of the article is the ’Al Jazeera Staff.’ The article points out to an event that occurred in mid-January 2023.

The key idea of the article is about the Israeli forces that killed a 40-years old palestinian man by the name of Hamdi Abu Dayyeh. From the beginning of the article (from the title), the ’Al Jazeera Staff’ cast doubt over the righteousness of the Israeli forces—they purposely put between commas the words shooting attack to point indirectly that Dayyeh was innocent and was killed for no other reason than just being palestinian.

The article is very generous with words like ’occupied (West Bank),’ ’kill,’ ’shot and killed’ and ’palestinian.’

The purpose of the article is evident—to demonize Israel by showing that Israel does not respect the rights of the palestinian people (or any people), by accusing Israeli military (and indirectly the state of Israel) of perpetuating violence and hate and thus denying the right to self-determination of Israel. The article accused the Israeli forces of preventing ’ambulances from approaching Abu Dayyeh as he lay on the ground’—Al Jazeera claims this is what ’witnesses said’ but they bring no proof.

The aim of the article is not to present the death of a palestinian man, but to demonize Israel. The authors highlight only the details that fit their propaganda without endorsing their claims. The authors of the article are eager to present Israel as killing minors and ’innocent’ people, and showing how hard life is under Israel.

The other aim of the article is to point to the long history of the so-called suffering of the so-called palestinian people in Israel. The article perpetuates the old anti-Semitic stereotypes: the Jewish people as oppressing the poor and the feeble, and killing minors without a reason—a blood-thirsty people.
