Why you should buy IOTA now!

in #iota7 years ago (edited)

IOTA is the new kid on the block in and it's one of the most promising projects. IOTA isn't hyped and that makes it also one of the most undervalued projects. The main innovation behind IOTA is the Tangle, a revolutionary new blockless distributed ledger, which is scalable, lightweight and for the first time ever makes it possible to transfer value without any fees. I will give three reasons why IOTA distinguishes itself from the rest.

Join our new Discord Channel, SteemitStocks. It's a chat channel where crypto and stocks investors can meet, chat and share content about investing.

1. Internet of things

Internet of Things (IoT) holds one of the biggest potential for human life change. It might become the fastest growing market in next couple years according to a lot of companies and analysts. IOTA wants to be a key player in the development of the Internet of Things and that will be in their advantage in the coming years because they are ahead of everyone else. In the following figures, the potential of IOT is given.

2. Zero fees and transaction costs

The Tangle makes it possible to make transactions without any fees. Imagine withdrawing money from your bank account on vacations without paying high transactions fees. Do I need to say more about this? No transaction fees are made possible by the Tangle that connects all devices.

3. Getting big companies behind their product

IOTA is getting big companies behind their idea with the Trusted IOT Alliance. The IOT alliance is founded to support the creation of a secure, scalable, interoperable, and trusted 'Internt of Things' ecosystem. Getting companies behind IOTA is a serious step toward global and wide acceptance. This alliance ensures that further developments for IOTA and IOT have been established. Along with academic research, the IOTA Foundation is actively developing the Tangle ecosystem in an effort to create an environment that’s functional, as well as attractive to enterprise and individual users.

In need to admit that IOTA is not the most practical project yet. Their light wallet and payment system still need to have a lot of updates but the updates are already announcement yesterday. The development team is very quick in their development and has already overcome bigger challenges. Buying IOTA today means buying before the major adoption. I think that IOTA will make a big boom when it's more user friendly and traded on more exchanges. But that is my opinion, decide for yourself if this is your project or not.

Let’s keep this BOOMING!

I like IOTA, but you said it's "not hyped"? It came on the scene with marketcap of $1.7billion... Most coins have a dip after overexurberant ICOs...

They were dormant for 2 years before being listed on their first exchange. That explosion wasn't created by hype from the team but from people who realize the potential they have. They are also one of the most transparent teams who give regular updates and are accessible through their chat channels.

Very good potential. I think everyone should have at least a bit of it in their portfolio since it's so unique and promising.

Thanks, i'll have to take a closer look.

I totaly agree with you @elowin

Yes but I think it's not media hyped compared to other coins. This could be an advantage to buy it now before everyone else will see the value of IOTA.

IOTA was hyped a little bit, like most ICO's, but not nearly as much as EOS for example.
Since IOTA is only 20-30 cents I think it is fair to say it's at a good price if you have faith in the project. Since it has new, unproven technology, it is more risky than other projects but also has a higher chance of reward if it succeeds. Fee-less transfers are going to make Ethereum and such obsolete, if it works.

IOTA sounds great as does EOS but time will tell if they ever get off the ground.

Yes, only time will tell. But IOTA got the opportunity to walk the same path like Ripple for example. But that is my opinion.

I wish it were listed on more exchanges. It only tradable on Bitfinex right now, correct?

Anyways, it's a very interested project with this concept of a "tangle", making it highly scalable and fee-free. From what I've read it doesn't support smart contracts, because all transactions are asynchronous. So it won't replace "traditional" blockchain tech, but could be used for other purposes.

I think you are spot on with IOTA.
I have been researching them for a while now, and I'm planning to buy a good deal of it :)

Sounds like IOTA has a lot of potential. However, when 'legit' companies and governments start to get involved (e.g. I know that the Dutch government is interested in the development of the Internet of Things), I become a bit skeptical ;-) But it might be a good investment/trade nonetheless.
