Why Investors Must Think Long Term

The bears complete take over of the entire coin market for the past couple of months have been and is still discouraging for many. Fear, uncertainty and doubt (FUD) is being created almost on a daily basis, due to a lot of factors including, but not limited to regulations, ban of cryptocurrency ads by facebook and google . All of these make the faint hearted decide and actually sell off their investments and future for pennies. Is that what you really want to do?

How Long Have You Been 'Playing' The Crypto Market?

If you have been in the crypto space for over a year like I have, believe in the technology of the crypto assets you hold and actually use them, you would be less perturbed about the value of the coins in your portfolio at the moment. In fact, you would buy more with the profits which you set aside during the boom.
I found this awesome video yesterday and thought to share. Take some time to listen to this video clip from the famous Amanda B. Johnson of DASH. It will teach you some lessons on how to behave during these dark times.

My Steem Investment Is For Long Term

I will be exactly one (1) year old a Steemian tommorow, 18/03/2018 , and have invested a lot (time, treasure and talent) in steem . Believe it or not! I started buying steem from $0.22 up to when it rose to about $3.00. My power up goals have not yet been achieved, but I am happy that 9,000 + SP is locked up in @maryfavour's account and 1,000 + SP in @redfishpillar's. That is to tell you to know that I'm in steem for a long ride!

Lesson To Learn

The lesson here is that investors must learn to think to hold their investments long-term (>2 years) rather than short. There is a saying that goes, after the rain comes the rainbow. The market will rise again and your investments grow, which is why you must think long-term.

Unfortunately, most people seem to look for the short term benefits. Thank God for people like you who are opening our eyes to the fact that we should look beyond today and set our minds on tomorrow. Thanks dear!!!

You got the point, my sister @trendyevents. Look beyond today and set your mind on tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by.

The investment in crypto is better motivated by the technology and not the high swing of price. This is because when the price collapses as it is now, the tech is what sustains one. If not it will be difficult to sustain during this time.

Absolutely! The technology and ease of use of the apps built on the blockchain is what should make folks stay put. Come to think of it, a crypto asset like steem is not speculatory. On the contrary, you earn rewards for content creation and curation. Thanks for stopping by, @turpsy. Enjoy the weekend.

According to the Steem white paper, the value of the blockchain is intended to be in the attention (= approximated by the web traffic generated) attracted by the content. That attention is valuable to promoters and advertisers who have an incentive to purchase Steem Power help attract even more attention to their content on the Steem blockchain. The current web traffic generated by steemit.com (the other UI's are insignificant at least for now) is nowhere as much as to justify the current price of STEEM (or SBD). The value of STEEM is laden with future expectations of growth as is common in case of growth stocks on the stock market. Time will tell if that valuation is justified. You should note that even the current value of STEEM of 1.8 or so is very speculative. Nothing wrong with that, though, because Steem is very scalable and has a number of exciting nascent applications.

Happy Steem Birthday In Advance Ma

Thanks a bunch, @honourmaus. I really appreciate it. Cheers.

YOU HAVE SAID IT ALL MA'AM.
This is the summary of everything I tell people.
You are really doing a good job. I admire your resilience and courage.
Happy 1 Year Steemiversary In advance!
Keep STeeming!

Thanks a million, my brother @nairadaddy!!! You wouldn't realize how motivating your work and team at the @air-clinic is. Keep impacting lives for the better.

I just wish many will think long term. The crypto game had made some very impatient. I remember when people have to wait for the stock to do a 20% increase in a year! When it happens, they'd be people popping champagne in celebration. These days after a 100% increase in less than a month, you'd still see many complaining. These are strange times. Congratulations to you.

The crypto game had made some very impatient

I couldn't agree more. Impatience is really the problem here. We want to eat our yam and seed yam all at once. Where would we find what to use for planting yam for the next season? It appears that our people are more comfortable 'pursuing Steem whales' for upvotes. They have forgotten that if these Steem whales behaved like them, they wouldn't have become whales.
Yes, those days of stocks are unforgettable. Hmm...very strange times we live in, my brother @greenrun. Thanks for the good wishes.

You are welcome. I think people sometimes forgot that the whales are the major investors. Happy one year anniversary. ✌️

Cryptocurrency ydeology longterm by default and investors should understand that its not a buy today and sell tomorrow to get rich next tomorrow investment

Similar to any other real investment, not HYIP or ponzi scheme, the investor has to decide to leave his investment for at least a year before thinking of selling a portion of it. Much appreciated contribution, @ausinebizzy.

You are right @maryfavour, i think if we want to be a great investor here on steemit or anywhere else, we should learn to be patient. It is not good for us to be checking the price of sbd every now and then, doing that you get discouraged. Give it time my brother

...we should learn to be patient.

That is the spirit, @adeuyi ! Keep steemin'

True you have to think long term

Exactly my point, @billykeed. Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks @maryfavour for sharing this wonderful piece of advice/encouraging words to us.... We should take steemit as our business.... Invest/plant today watered it and harvest later.

I like the way you've summarized my post, @joagwu

Invest/plant today watered it and harvest later.

This shows a good understanding. Thanks too for your contribution. Well done!

Thanks Ma'am

@joagawu it been awhile, thanks for contribution i think i can learn from it

I think every good business man think long term. If in long term you will gain more than in short term, then why not go for the long term. I will relate this to Nigerian politicians and i think they need to learn from you and start thinking in view and stop relying in the present because it will never give you the desired benefits. Thanks for opening our eyes to this truth @maryfavour
