Hello Steemit! My name is Zach Mortimer and I am here to help people get more out of their life!

I spend my life following my heart and pursuing my passions. Through example and direct lesson I focus my life around spreading the freedom and joy I have found in my own life with others. Living life directed by my passion has led to a gem of an experience with an exceptional amount of facets. Explorer, teacher, photographer, climber, writer, life coach... These are just a few of the many hats I wear in this experience.

Professionally I operate as an empowerment coach for people all across the world. This modality has proven to be a perfect mixture of responsibility and passion for me and as such it is the primary focus of my time. Originally this profession was supported only by those I could meet in person or that had been brought to me through word of mouth. However, with the growth of the internet and social networking over the past decade my duties have grown from a hometown attempt to make the lives of people around me better. Into a world wide network of individuals collaboratively working together to assist in the loving expression of consciousness on this planet. Due to the nature of the work and my personal investment in to the expansion of consciousness I am always in search of ways to streamline my process and distribute information more effectively. In recent times the amount of individuals interested in exploring their own mind is on the upswing. Due to this, what was once a quaint attempt to assist those around me has turned in to a job that I am not capable of handling entirely alone. As a result of this I have continually had to find ways to be able to get my message out to a broader range of people with a single stroke. This started with forums and bulletin boards, grew to instant messenger systems as they came to life, and has now spread itself through all platforms I can find on the internet to more efficiently distribute information. This is where steemit comes in.

My work is my passion and I genuinely care about enhancing the lives of others through assisting them in getting in touch with themselves and empowering them to live their truth. As such I try to help every person I can. However, I am only one person and despite my reaching out to other capable people and obtaining their assistance in this goal, I still find myself unable to work with all who ask for assistance. Steemit will provide me with an additional platform to get this information on the web and consequently get it in front of people's perception.

Primarily I will be posting consciousness and empowerment related material. However. I have an extremely wide range of interests and am exceptionally driven on consuming novel information. As a result, I am continually coming across new topics that interest me. I believe that inside of every experience is the opportunity to learn more about ourselves. Through metaphor and association I continually find that no matter what I choose to do I always end up finding me there and something new to learn about myself. Consequently, I have a tendency to speak in metaphor of the things I have experienced in my life when trying to spread this information to others that it may help. This tendency will likely be echoed in my posts here as it is echoed most everywhere else in my life. Given this tendency, it is likely you will also find posts about emergent technology, science, esoteric thought, extreme sports, and a multitude of other things that either have or will become a primary part of my path in life and thus my understanding of existence.

Outside of the aim of enhancing quality of life for anyone I can. I also have a multitude of hobbies that I am deeply involved with. Dependent on interest, more or less content may be posted regarding these (although they'd still likely all end up pointing towards the primary aim). My primary 2 passions outside of empowering others and exploring myself are rock climbing and photography.

I have been climbing rocks and developing new places to climb outdoors for the past 7 years. Through this hobby I have met an exceptional amount of amazing people, explored myself to depths I thought impossible, and seen some of the most incredible locations on the planet. Generally I document these travels through photo, video, or both and I enjoy sharing these new locations and discoveries with others so they can get out in nature and enjoy them too. In addition to a hobby I occasionally operate as a coach/guide/trainer for others. Due to my tendency to deeply analyze everything I do I have developed many efficient methods and routines to approach climbing lifestyle, training, and success on outdoor pursuits. Given my tendency to want to teach others this naturally manifested itself as a biproduct of my now symbiotic relationship with climbing. I leap at every opportunity to bring people closer to the world of climbing I know and love so much.

Photography has always been a part of my life as my mother was an avid photographer and artist. She raised me around the theories of composition and the search for the perfect light. This continues to be something I am highly excited about to this day and I never miss a chance to catch a sunset or sunrise and more often than not I bring some form of camera with me to freeze the moment in time to be shared with others and experienced repeatedly by myself. I have operated semi-professiinally as a freelance photographer but primarily do it as a hobby. Most of my shooting is done around the western United States which I am moving around constantly given my nomadic lifestyle. My favorite areas on the mainland to shoot are most certainly the deserts of the southwest and the rain forests of Washington state. Alas, I am a vehement seeker of novelty, thus I am always looking to see something new or from a new perspective. Given photographers innate ability to spread joy by encapsulating emotion in a still frame I find it very beneficial to share this imagery with others. I find it to be a very clever way of 'spreading the light' as I can capture that physical light in time and encapsulate the emotional light there in and easily distribute this moment to others.

Other facts about me and interests that may be covered by me:

I live a nomadic lifestyle with my 2 dogs. We live in a Toyota 4runner that is constantly mobile spreading joy.

I am an advocate and facilitator of shamanic rites and plant medicines primarily in the traditional Amazonian fashion.

I make a fair amount of memes focused on inspiring people to enhance themselves or dissolving mistruths of internal perception.

I make climbing and other videos as a hobby primarily. Here is one of my first videos I made several years ago.

I am very enthusiastic about modern dance primarily urban styles and those branching out of psychedelic rave culture. Here's a video of me dancing a year ago or so.

I have many more facets to me but I feel that this is likely a beyond acceptable introduction to what I do and my aims for steemit. Beyond this I think it's best if I, as Edward Abbey said, let my actions define the finer points of my philosophy.
