ToastyCharts - My Cryptocurrency story.

in #introduceyourself7 years ago (edited)

Hey Steemers, let me start off by saying that I am extremely excited to finally be a part of this community and that I am looking forward to meet as many people as I possibly can. I wasn’t really sure how to start on this incredible platform but decided to just commence and not overthink it too much. How rude…let me introduce myself. My internet name is ToastyCharts and I am currently located in the beautiful city of Toronto here in Canada. I am a full time university student enrolled in the Kinesiology program and an aspiring cryptocurrency investor. How was I introduced to cryptocurrencies you ask? Well it all started back in May of 2017, when a friend of mine got involved in Forex, the foreign exchange market. Being the curious person that I am, I jumped head first and opened an Instagram account to journal my trading journey. I spent hours upon hours analyzing the markets, memorizing different chart patterns, and focusing on improving the art of technical analysis. After months of emotional rollercoaster, I realized that it was far from a get rich quick venture and that this would take time and lots of effort to accomplish. I then decided to alter my approach and started to read books about trading as I knew that by focusing on improving the skill, my chances of succeeding and making money would further increase. That’s when I stumbled upon a book called “Digital Gold” by author Nathaniel Popper, which I’m sure some of you are familiar with. I WAS OFFICIALLY MIND BLOWNED. I could not believe that I went all these years without knowing about Bitcoin and the block chain technology. I realized right away that this concept was a game changer, so I decided not to repeat the same mistake I made when I started Forex. I bought multiple books about the subject and made sure I was well informed before getting involved. My first Bitcoin purchase was around the likes of 4000 USD back in late September of last year and I was fortunate enough to sell most of it at around 17,000 – 18,000 USD during the month of December. I then got involved in Ripple, catching it at an outstanding price of 0.25-0.30 cents and then experiencing that acute bull run to the likes of 3.10 – 3.20 USD region before taking some profits off the table. To be perfectly honest with you guys, I owe my success of cashing out at the right times to the extensive forex trading as I could see, at the time, that both charts were well over-extended on the weekly and daily timeframes. Without that knowledge, I would probably just be “hodling” it through the bear market we experienced early this year without earning any profits. What are my plans and goals on the Steemit platform? I honestly just hope I can contribute to this wonderful platform and meet awesome like-minded people through my journey. I will do so by posting crypto related posts and technical analysis on major cryptocurrencies whether that be Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and etc. Hope you enjoyed my little story and know that I am extremely grateful for your time and attention.
