Hello everyone. This is difficult for me.
I've been here a couple of weeks and trying to get the hang of Steemit. I'm not really a very public person, I'm also of an older generation, so I find baring all on the internet difficult, so this isn't very easy for me to do.
I can say that I'm 47 and a father of two, come from London, England and have worked in wholesale banking IT since I was 21. I left during the crash of 2008 and have kept myself busy with various investment projects since. I've worked on trading floors all my professional life and had a difficult time adjusting to civi street and being away from the banking world.
I came across Steemit through my dealings with Cryptos - something I'm new at. Although I've traded currencies in the past, I find the bare enthusiasm of the crytpo market fascinating, let alone the volatility and I see some real potential not only in the technologies that are being created, but the brilliant minds behind the technology is aweinspiring, it's fresh, and exciting and the most positive thing I've seen come about since I started working on the trading floor over twenty five years ago.
So I'm not really a caring sharing kind of guy, but I'll post some work here as I'm making my way around the crypto world, especially when it comes to trading, as I see there's some very enthusiastic investors out there, hopefully I can add some value to the site and also learn a lot from you guys out there about what's going on in this crazy world.
So hello, thanks for listening to me rambling on and I hope we can continue to grow this wonderful and meaningful ecosystem together.

Hi Mark!
This is a unique place where there is no competition. Instead, we all work together to help each other. The best way to grow is to have enough Steem Power and vote to reward other authors.
It is important to produce good content in a continuous way so you can grow.
A suggestion would be take your time to look for posts that interest you and promote them. Also, start by following the authors who publish good content and vote for them.
I wish you much success if you need help, let me know!
I'm following you as well.
Best Regards, @juniorifoj
Thank you! I will.
Hey Mark, welcome to Steemit! I'm sure you'll enjoy it here, the community is great. I look forward to seeing your content. Good to have another fellow Brit on board. What kind of other things have you traded in the past? FOREX? Stocks? I got my enthusiasm for trading through crypto but I'm intrigued about other markets too.
As you are interested in cryptocurrency, my blog is going to do an overview series of the top 100 coins and it'd be great if you could give me a follow... I've just released my second post on Ethereum but I've got many more to come!
Hope you have a nice day :)

I've held a long term equity portfolio that's just a nest egg really. But have traded currency pairs before now with mixed results (I started off in forex back in the days), but am going back into cryptos with open eyes.
Thanks for the message, following!
Thanks mate, would be interesting to hear what you had to say about FOREX trading sometime :)
I was day trading cable (GBPUSD pair) with a relatively large broker that on too many occasions failed to fill my limit orders claiming that there was no volume and constantly stopped me out even though I proved the volume was on the book.
I knew my strategy was sound, but just kept getting stopped out all the time, so instead of adjusting my risk ratio, I messed up big time and put in market orders without a stop loss. I had some remarkable gains, but the inevitable happened and my margin account was liquidated when the market went south, twice! I had got greedy and stupid and lost everything I had gained.
So I learned my lesson there!
Welcome! We're all glad to have you :)
Its a great place to network, to learn and to share what you've learnt and I look forward to seeing your posts!
Give me a follow @cryptobroye. Im sure there's much we can learn from each other.
I'm definately following, it's people like you that brought me here. I'm interested in learning more on TA strategies in the crypto world!
Welcome, Mark! I think it would be interesting to hear from you about your experience working in the banking field back in 2008:)
I worked primarily on an equities floor then but provided some support for the more exostic derivs desks, with names exceeding the bounds of comprehension. I'm sure half the guys working the desk didn't know what they were selling! They gutted the floor post crash and the bank collapsed. It's still just hanging on now under the ownership of another bank that itself had to be rescued by the government due to the level of exposure it had to the bad debt.
I worked in Hong Kong for a while, back in 2006. Interesting place.
hello and welcome @steemmonkey~~
