Introducing Snitchbug - Hello Steemit

I’m Evi, a travel and sports enthusiast based in the Finnish capital Helsinki (actually at the time of writing Tel Aviv-bound, heading out to new adventures in Israel and Palestinian territories). However, most of the time I’m a social science student, trying desperately to finish my thesis amid all the attractions life brings in front of me. My interests include Middle Eastern politics, cultures and languages, as well as security and politics in general, and these interests have thrown me to places like Jordan and Lebanon where I’ve spent some time studying and working. Whenever I have time, I enjoy reading a good book or spending time somewhere out of the city.

When it comes to sports, I enjoy watching almost any type of it on TV, sitting comfortably on a sofa. However, lifting weights is the thing for me and I’ve been training goal-centered for some years now. It would be a waste of time without having any interest in nutrition, so naturally I’m also curious about how to improve physical performance by optimal nutrition (though not taking it too seriously, pizza is still my favourite vegetable).

For the past couple of years I've been traveling mainly in the Middle East and Europe. What fascinates me in traveling is the ability to learn and see what you can’t learn from books or news etc. no matter how informative they seem to be. People and the sites themselves give insight into something that is not written or documented anywhere: stories, different viewpoints and personal histories. Traveling also gives rise to the whole scale of emotions: joy, amusement, frustration and gloominess. And as much as I love traveling, I love the feeling of coming back home.

So, Steemit is the new interest of mine, adding to the above mentioned and introduced to me by a friend. Though I’m a complete newbie, I wish to contribute by sharing those parts of my experiences and views which I think might be informative and interesting. Feel free to oppose, agree and discuss!

To wrap this up:

“Run from what's comfortable. Forget safety. Live where you fear to live. Destroy your reputation. Be notorious. I have tried prudent planning long enough. From now on I'll be mad.”
