Hello everyone

Hello to you all! So my name is Fathmath Shifa, but you all can simply refer to me as shipha. Born in a small island of Maldives, I come from a very minimal and simple background, as you all can imagine. Growing up in Maldives, in those sandy beaches and blue lagoon in the hot weather has allowed me to realise the importance of nature and environment, and even though it is hot throughout the year, I can't complain since I loved every bit of my childhood and the simplistic average life.

Currently, I am a Master of Public Policy candidate specialising in International Relations and Politics at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy of National University of Singapore. With an undergraduate degree in Tourism Management, I am an inactive employee of the Ministry of Tourism, Maldives, where I worked in the Quality Auditing & Registration and Development & Environment department for the past five years. My main responsibilities included monitoring development progress and environmental sustainability of the new resort development projects, monitoring and auditing quality standards of the operational tourist facilities, reviewing tourism regulation, collecting data related to safety and handling disputes and case files.

Over the years, I have also participated in climate change seminars and projects, both held nationally and internationally, and worked closely with bilateral and international organisations. Born in Maldives, my life and experience in policy-making in a Small Island Developing State has convinced me of the importance of finding development solutions that are environmentally sustainable for the survival of Maldives, and I hope very much to achieve this through policy solutions that I am learning in my graduate school.

On the other side as a passion and hobby, I am also working with my husband @stormofmort on our blog sharing stories and ideas we are most passionate about, giving insights and knowledge of trending topics. Besides all this, I am also a keen reader, mostly into crime and romantic dramatic stories along with many other random collection of love stories. I am such a retard, believing and following love stories at a modern time where love is not respected and people are cruel and evil. But I have faith that eventually we will let go of hatred, help each other and create a happy world for the sustainable survival of humanity.
