I'm a Japanese computer researcher & music composer

Hi there, my name is Shiki Byakko.

Since very young I’ve had interest in computers. I’m an internet user back from the time of the dial-up, when the internet wasn’t so mainstream. My father was a researcher at a university, and he had a dial-up connection from his school, so I used this before there were even commercial ISP.

My interests rage from computers, science, games, to music composition, creating things among other things. I love reverse engineering, and see how things actually work.

I work as an R&D engineer, mainly on the field of Computer Vision, so I'm in the weird position of connecting the world of scientific research with the world of engineering, which, even thou they seem like a perfect fit, since their aproaches are really different, it's not as simple as it sounds.

Talking about sounds, I also compose music since like 16 years ago.
My style is heavily inspired by Progressive and Symphonic Rock, but I also do electronic music.

I also like discussions, as I think that by confronting your own ideas with other’s ideas, you can throw ideas that do not work, and polish your thinking.
That is why I do not like people who just pushes an idea onto others without any will to discuss it.

I have a blog already at http://www.shikibyakko.com , so I'm still not sure what I'm going to do in steemit, but I do think this platform is incredible, so I want to do something in it.

Hope to see you all later!

Hi welcome to steemit I assure you that this is an awesome platform and glad to have you here. =)

Welcome! Yeah, engineering and science might overlap, but they don't always get along

Welcome to Steemit. I think you will like it. There are plenty of people who love talking about cryptocurrencies, but lots of other interests too. Have fun

Welcome to Steem. Do read A thumb rule for steemit minnows - 50:100:200:25 for starter tips.
