Eat your fruits... SERIOUSLY.

Which one would you pick? Orange, grapefruit, or blood orange?

I've been hearing a lot of people avoiding fruit due to the sugars they contain.

NO. Don't do this.

Fruits are rich in nutrients that your body needs that increase in nutritional value when taken with other nutrients in the fruit. Studies prove that the nutrients found naturally in food are much more effective in terms of its absorption by your body than supplements. Moreover, citrus fruits score low on the glycemic index which means that their natural sugars don't cause a big spike in blood sugar! This is great news for those who are diabetic. Most of my family is diabetic, so this is really important especially within my own family.

Lastly, I've been seeing people adding lots of collagen supplements to their diets. While this is okay, citrus fruits also can provide that for you (naturally)! They have high amounts of vitamin C, and vitamin C produces collagen which provides elasticity and structure for your skin and tendons! It's also high in antioxidants. Incorporate these delicious fruits into your diet! Your body will thank you later.
