Greetings Steemit Community!

I just came across an article posted a year or so back suggesting a great way to get engaged with the Steemit community is to introduce oneself...sounds like a good plan! Thanks by the way https://steemit.com/@cryptoctopus !!

My name is Rob McDermott and I reside an hour south of Seattle, WA in Olympia. It's the State of Washington's capital and a pretty great place to call home...not to mention my wife and I can afford a bit more home and quality of life out of the big city lol! Here's a pic of our place

It's pretty awesome, it's like having a state park for a front yard! Alright, besides the view we have a bunch of critters, dog, cat, chickens and sheep...here's a pic of our most favorite old gal "one-horn"

Alright if I did this right you have a pretty good idea that we live out of the city a ways and have a mini farm of sorts on Puget Sound.

Professionally I've worked in the technology space most all of my career, in enterprise sales, marketing and the management/leadership side of things. Jumping head first into attempting to figure out the world of cryptocurrency is in large part because I have an appreciation for technology and how it progresses but feel as if too many times I'm following the trends instead of being in the mix early. I'm that guy that in 1992/93 purchased the internet in a box book (okay i know I'm dating myself LOL!..I'm young at heart damn it) and tried to figure it all out, but as I've never been a coder I simply got frustrated and resolved my efforts to simply creating an early email address (which I kept for 22 years by the way...LOL...it was my name!) but then just took a left turn and went to work for a more traditional tech company at the time.

In 1999 I enrolled in a credited MBA program with a focus on technology (Technology Innovation Management) and post earning that degree in 2001 have spent the past 15 years working mostly with start-ups and smaller organizations helping to get new technology from beta to revenues. By the way, here might be a great spot to offer that any of you out there are looking for a few comments or suggestions on how to go about getting your product, software, idea further along that is indeed my wheelhouse and I'd be happy to provide you my best two cents. Please note, it's hard work starting, engaging and pursuing new ventures and it's dirty work in terms of the amount of rejection and frustration it can cause...it's not always easy to see your blind spots when you are so close to your dreams, so just a cautionary comment that my feedback might not always be puppy dogs and flowers, but it will always be honest and respectful!

Back to Steemit, I'm attempting to figure this all out, watching videos, reading posts and jumping in the deep end of the pool and forcing myself to swim, so if anyone has suggestions or comments in terms of how to make the most of this by all means I'm all ears and looking forward to learning from the tribe's collective knowledge.
