Because one introduction post is just not enough ;)....Why “My Dirty High Heels”? ليش اخترت الاسم “My Dirty High Heels”؟

The name simply represents a journey of an adult woman, not one in specific, and definitely not just me. Women in this world go through a lot, sometimes more than men because we play multiple roles and sometimes contradicting ones. A woman is the loving mom and wife at home and the tough manager at work. You might think men could be the same, but no, it is different for women in the work field. We have to be tougher than the average man for both physical and psychological reasons.
In the Arab world, a well dressed woman might be called certain names at work. Under-dressed one, will be thought of as poor, weak, and sometimes manly. In this part of the world (and maybe others that I don't know of) the working woman need to be put in a context (or under a label) for our men to understand her. If she is married and acts friendly with other men, she must be a player. If she is tough “ …she is the pants in her house, we feel sorry for the husband” And… if she is of a certain age and not married, here comes the Middle Eastern soap opera “…there must be something wrong with her, that’s why she is not married till now” and here comes the journey of discovering (and most of the times making up the facts) what’s wrong with her, and not for a second would anyone (including the other women) think that SHE, and only her, has not met the right person!

I want to tackle the above situation through books as I mentioned earlier in my previous post. Why books you ask… because books represent all of us, not just one journey, or one lifetime… books are the window to this amazing world that we live in, and we need this window now more than anytime before because of all what’s happening around us. We need a reminder that we are vibrant souls rather than just human beings!

الاسم “ماي ديرتي هاي هيلز” يمثل رحلة امرأة في المجتمع الشرقي. مش بالضرورة امرأة معينة، والاكيد مش رحلتي أنا بالتحديد.
المرأة في عالمنا بتمرق برحلة ممكن تكون آصعب من رحلة الرجل لأنها بتلعب عددة أدوار خلال اليوم الواحد، و في بعض الأحيان هاي الأدوار ممكن تكون متضاربة. دور الأم الحنون والزوجة في البيت، مقابل المديرة الشديدة في العمل. البعض ممكن يفكر انه الرجل ايضا بيمرق بنفس التضارب، بس صدقوني الوضع مختلف وأصعب على المرأة بسبب الفروق النفسية والجسدية الي بتميز الرجل عنها.

في المجتمع العربي، ممكن تلقب المرأة الي بتهتم بلبسها في العمل بألقاب معينة غير لائقة، والي غير مهتمة بلبسها وبمظهرها العام ممكن ينظر الها بنظرة الشفقة لانها فقيرة او عديمة الحيل، وفي بعض الاحيان بأنها مسترجلة. في عالمنا العربي (وممكن يكون الحال نفسه في أماكن أخرى) الرجل بحب يحط المرأة بقالب محدد عشان يعرف فهمها، والمشكلة انه القوالب الموجودة عنده محدودة جداً. بمعنى، اذا كانت متزوجة وتتصرف بطريقة لطيفة جداً مع زملائها الرجال فهي ممكن تكون لعوب! أما إذا كانت شديدة وجدية نوعاً ما “…فالله يعين زوجها عليها، شكلها متحكمة فيه!” ويا حبيبي إذا كانت كبيرة بالعمر ولسه ما تزوجت… هون ببلش الفيلم الهندي…”أكيد فيها عيب عشان هيك ما تزوجت لهلأ”… وهون بتبلش رحلة البحث عن أسباب عدم زواجها، والمشكلة الأكبر انه الشاطر الي بيألف قصة أحلى، وعلى فكرة، ، مع الأسف الستات بيلعبوا هادا الدور أكثر من الرجال في تأليف القصص، وماحدا بيخطرلوا انها هي كمان الها رأي بالموضوع ولسه ما لقت الشخص المناسب الها!

المهم، انا حابه احكي عن كل هاي المواضيع بس عن طريق الكتب، لأنه الكتب بتحكي عنا كلنا مش بس عن شخص معين وبتتناول عدة جوانب في حياتنا ممكن الشخص الواحد ما يعيشها كلها.
في رأيي المتواضع جداً، الكتب هي نافذة رائع لهالعالم الأروع الي بنعيش فيه، وحاليا احنا محتاجين لهذه النافذة اكثر من أي وقت مضى بسبب الظروف الي بنعيشها ووضع المنطقة الي على كف عفريت زي مابحكوا.
الكتب الي رح أحكي عنها فيها نوع من التذكير انه نحن مش بس جسد، ولكن أرواح تتمتع بذبذبات معينة النا القدرة انه نتحكم فيها!
