Our First House
3 Bedrooms 2 Baths Basement Attic 2 Car Garage
My boyfriend and I recently purchased a house in March. After trying the year before to buy a house, everything fell into place. We ended up purchasing his grandma's house which he helped build in 2005. His grandma unfortunately has Alzheimer's which got worse when her dog passed away. She had to be put under 24 hour care. The bills for the place she is staying is expensive causing his mom and her siblings to have to put the house up for sale. We were already in the process of purchasing another house and backed out when we found this out. The house was able to stay in the family. Such a blessing. It's an absolute dream to wake up everyday in a home that we own.
It's a one story ranch style home which is just what we wanted.
Our bedroom is hands down my favorite room in the house. I've never had such a large room before. Our bedroom now is almost as big as our previous rental. It's so nice having so much closet space and a private bathroom.
The only reason we have a 70 inch television is because my boyfriend found it to be necessary. I now feel like we are at a movie theater every time I'm out there. Haha.
My brother is currently staying in one of the guest bedrooms. Hence the messiness.
Family time is really important to me. Having a big kitchen and dining room is such a bonus. I can't wait for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year.
We have done all the painting ourselves. It was our first project. Let me tell you, picking paint colors was not an easy task. Believe it or not, my boyfriend was the picky one. We went through about 3 paint colors before we decided to mix a couple together to get the perfect shade of gray. I swear we will have the same paint forever, because painting is a pain. Kudos to those of you that do it for a living.
Excuse the mess. The basement is still a work in progress. This is the part of the house that people have been most impressed with. It's massive. Eventually the plan is to completely convert it into a home gym and hang out spot.
The second guest bedroom is a man cave at the moment. There is a computer set up in there which my boyfriend spends large quantities of time due to bitcoin.
Our yard and back deck is the perfect size for us. There is a creek behind the house which is peaceful to listen to. Birds are always at our feeders too. The neighbor has been great as well and mows our lawn. I've never had close neighbors, but everyone has been good to us so far.
I really cannot wait to spend my future in this home. God has blessed us.
Thanks for viewing and reading!!
Until next time,
Kristy

Nice set up! Welcome to Steemit :)
Thank you!!
Wow...this home is very big :)
Yes it is! I have no idea what to do with all the room.
Why not buy small home? How much do you pay for electricity there? if it is ok I ask :)
This home has sentimental value and was just what we were looking for. One bedroom for us, one for a guest and the other for a child in the future. Electricity is about $150 USD every month. Not too bad actually.
If you are happy then it is ok... you must know what you want :)
