Hi - I'm Val a design thinker and knowledge broker with a passion for blockchain tech and inner engineering
A bit of background
My name is Val and I’m in my early 30’s. In terms of academic background, I am a bio-engineer with a background in biotech (BA) agricultural economics (MA) and commodities futures markets (PhD). I was born in Georgia (the previous Soviet Republic), am a Belgian citizen for more than a decade now and lived in Africa, Scandinavia, US, South America, and currently in Australia. I am very interested and excited in the rise of the Blockchain tech and believe it will revolutionise the world on a massive scale. As a proponent of basic income, I believe blockchain will even decentralise “work” as we know it - and who knows, one day might quasi replace governments so we can self-organise and govern ourselves.
I run a small design thinking & knowledge brokering company and am all about inner engineering ;)
While I do enjoy writing an occasional article, I’m a much bigger fan of visual communication (e.g. prezi style structured presentation). Hopefully will have a vide example of that soon.
Why steemit?
I briefly mentioned #BasicIncome - and both from personal perspective as understanding and following the social transformations, I believe steemit is one of the first good examples steps that can create “financial independence en masse” without going into the add-business (i.e. an equivalent of basic income).
What I like about steemit:
One of the first real world application / examples of blockchain tech for a large user base - intrinsic value of tokens!
what I like less:
Digital diarrhoea - I wish there was a bigger focus on quality content (reputation vs steem power), more structure, and ability to create cumulative value for topics.
But as with everything, we have to start somewhere, and either way steemit is an incredible evolution!
How am I planning to use steemit?
Honestly, I have no idea - one moment I have grand plans to create quality content, linked with videos and the other, I’m feel discouraged with the whole starting from scratch process and somehow have the feeling of swimming upstream. Either way, I am committed to use steemit on a regular basis as it is my job as a design thinker and a knowledge broker to truly understand these new technological developments, and I like to do it hands on.
I am keen to interact with like-minded people, and always enjoy a constructive discussion / debate. Looking forward “to steem” with you guys on BlockChain tech and every new token coming out; Design Thinking; Knowledge Brokering; Innovation & Tech; Basic Income; Global Citizenship; Inner Engineering; and the purpose of life.
Feel free to reach out / ask.
Regards,
Val

I feel like you were literally inside my brain with that one. I'm feeling so crazy about it all as well.
Wanting to produce quality content, things that matter, focus on topics, but also wanting to vomit words all over the screen and hope everyone approves.
