Introduction of a barista and coffee roaster

in #introduceyourself7 years ago (edited)

Hey, Steemers! My name is Jared Gibson. I am a barista at a Starbucks. I also roast my own coffee and sell it online and at a local farmers market. At the moment, I'm only selling through my Facebook page and one farmers market, but I am planning on expanding to other online outlets and other local farmers markets soon!

I got interested in coffee after I started working as a barista in the Target I work at. At first, I began experimenting with grinding my own whole bean coffee and experimenting with brewing devices such as pour over cones, French presses, and whatever else I could find on a budget. After becoming acquainted with Starbucks coffee, I began buying freshly roasted coffee online and from a few local roasters. Then, I learned I could roast coffee myself, for half or a third the price I could buy it from my favorite roasters!

After years of experience as a barista and a roaster, I want to start my own coffee roasting business and share my love for coffee with as many people as possible, obviously while making money doing it!

At the moment, I intend for this Steemit account to be a professional outlet for posting my coffee brewing and roasting posts

Hi Jared, welcome to steemit! I'm also making batch cold brew at home and I'm very curious to learn more about coffee, especially about roasting! Definitely following :)

I love cold brew. I'm tinkering with a cold brew blend now with Colombian and Honduran coffee, which are the only two coffees I have in stock now because of my limited space for coffee and coffee trinkets. Cold brew might be one of the first things I write about :)

Oh I'm waiting for that! I tried Ethiopia, Sumatra, Guatemala and Kenya until now for cold brew until now and personally I like Kenya the most! Looking forward to your post about it :)
