Greetings everyone!steemCreated with Sketch.

Hello there! Even though I've read the FAQs, I am barely familiar with the platform but there out there is that one should create of these #introduceyourself posts. So... so... here it is.

Named after my grandfather Ivan, my name is Ivaylo Kozarev. I suppose most of you can already tell that I'm from the "slavic" countries. My origin of birth and current whereabouts are in Bulgaria. You, reading this, are already bored so lets just jump into some facts.

  • I am 26 yrs of age

  • Specialized in major I've little interest in, managed to somehow see through the end of it and graduated from university not so long ago.

  • For the moment being you could identify me as a one of the cat people. And so - have a 2in1 pic.

No disrespect for doggies, I'd have a few if I could, but in future... who knows.

Not sure if I'll be blogging about only topic, because I'd like to explore quite a few interests of mine. My full time job is not at all related to visual arts, i work for a restaurant and catering firm and even though I am not employed as a kitchen worker and I do have profound interests in cooking as a hobby. I also enjoy watching a great movie or show or anime, in the rare cases I discover a new one.
But. What gets to me, what really gets under my skin are the applied arts in general and painting and drawing in specific. And if I had to pick only one specific topic to blog about - that would be it.
I am mostly a traditional artist. I am self taught and continue to watch various online courses to improve my skills. Tbh I always felt and, I still do, that my skills are inferior to an artist who's been trained in an academy of arts... Hence my drive to learn more. I am exploring different styles and expression forms and my intention is to share the process with you. I'd like to keep things here more raw and personal than on my facebook or instagram pages, which I usually update when I've finished a piece. I'd probably blog about the struggles and challenges of being a low paid (or not paid at all) part time artist.

Maybe some random picks of finished pieces now.
I'd sometimes get one not very large, nicely shaped log, cut in slices and then paint it:
