Some Useful Guidelines for New STEEMIANS. From What I Have Learned So Far..
Steemit is a great new platform for everybody to share their content. Unlike other social media platforms, Steemit gives you the opportunity to earn rewards for posting content, for up voting, and commenting on other posts. It was estimated there have been over a 15 million visits in September.

WOW, what would be the estimated number in 2020?
However, after being on Steemit for some time, I thought of introducing some useful guidelines for new Steemians on how they can start posting content, and the do's and don't's. These are my personal views, so I hope you can benefit from it if you are here for the long run.
(1) Post content that you have knowledge of
Don't simply post stuff that you have no interest and no idea of the content in the post. In the long run you will not benefit from it.
(2) Enjoy what you write
Make sure you enjoy writing content. Readers can understand the aim of the post if you write it clearly and will help you to get more up votes.
(3) Do not plagiarize
Do not copy paste or steal content from other articles. It's not nice. If you are doing that, at least remember to put in some references guiding your readers to the original article. If you are re-posting content from your own blogs elsewhere, leave a link to it.
(4) Name your images, and do not over use images without re-sizing them
If you want your images to appear on Google image search, name them properly. And please, resize all the images properly and arrange them in your post. Put some effort in properly organizing the content in your post with proper formatting.

(5) Do not think about the money when posting content
At times you will get more votes and more payouts, or there will be zero votes and zero payouts. Don't post content simply to earn few cents (or few bucks). If the content is valuable readers will decide whether to up vote or share.
(6) Aim for more Steem power
If you are on steemit now, you should know about steem power. The more steem power your have, more voting power you will get, and you will have the power to control your content from getting down voted.
(7) Use tags wisely
Use proper tags when you post. Do not abuse popular tags. Readers don't want to read about travelling in the science section. So use only the tags that are appropriate for your content.
(8) Buildup a good number of followers and listen to them
One of your aims should be to have more followers. When you have more followers, they can help you to up vote your posts. When they reply, have some courtesy to reply them back (of course only if it is necessary). Try not to argue. Have some reputation as a content writer. Have a good relationship with your followers.
(9) Do not just re-steem
Simply just re-steeming will not help you to in the long run. Remember to post your own original content.
(10) Stay up to date
Know what is happening on Steemit, and the cryptocurrency world. Know about possible hacks and attacks. Follow Steemit on twitter. Keep yourself up to date.

So that's my take. If you have any useful guidelines that you can think of, and will be valuable to help/improve the Steemit community, leave it down in the comments section.
Cheers,
Until next time....
