A newbie in Steemit and the Cryptocurrencies world
Hello Steemit community,
it's always difficult to write a new post. Even more difficult if this is your first post AND the post where you try to introduce yourself. Well, let's have a try.
I bet you heard a lot of stories about people that became rich with Bitcoins... people that mined thousands of coins in the early stages and that sold them for a 5000% profit. People that bought large cars, big apartments, maybe a yacht... well, that's not me, but my story is similar.
Two years ago I started mining Ether. Wanted to make some profit, without knowing much of the Crypto world. Ether at that time was sold at 14$. I mined for two weeks with my PC, and I ended with 2 Ethers in my wallet, while the price dropped to 11$ and i spent 25$ of electricity.
My girlfriend told me to stop, that mining was evidently not profitable anymore. And I agreed with her. Uninstalled the mining software and forgot my wallet somewhere inside my hard disk.
Some time has passed; on June 2017 out of curiosity, I wanted to check the Ethereum price on the market.
It was 390$.
That's huge.
I had a lot of thoughts running into my mind during those five minutes.: do I have still my wallet? Where can I sell my Ether? What can I do with this money?
I know that 800$ maybe cannot change your life, but for me it was a big bunch of money that appeared from nothing. After that I began to investigate and do some research about Cryptos; I became a little addicted to the technology behind it... and I re-invested those money in Cryptocurrencies. Even if I'm not a professional trader or a technical specialist on the subject.
Why?
Because I believe in Crypto. I think that will be the next big step of humanity into a new Age and a new Economy. And maybe, I'll attempt to earn some bucks in the process :) I'll try to to express my thoughts and feelings about Cryptos here on Steemit, because... what can be a better place to write about Cryptocurrencies if not on the Blockchain?

I mined ethereum as well. Mined 40 in a month or two but stopped because the electricity was too expensive.
Ether was $10 at the time!
