Introducing Myself - Fata Morgana - aka Fairy Telling my Way through Steemit
Hello guys,
this is my first post on Steemit.
Thanks for accepting me in this community of Writers.
I love the ideas and principles behind Steemit, I have already been working with groups concerned about finding ways to design a fairer world, seeking solutions about correcting the Systems that we have now in place that are not supporting everyone equally and I find that Steemit has integrated from birth many of the ideas/perspectives we have been working on - like - how do we access the playing field if the system is built so that just some win and the 99% loses?
And along comes Steemit that states everyone will be equally rewarded for their contributions that bring value to the community - and we will be the ones deciding where the value should lay - it's a bit like redesigning a Monetary System, this time way smarter, we are not backing it up with gold or volatile assets - or nothing, as we are doing now-, nope, we are powering this system with ourselves, our time, our will to make a difference, our contributions that span beyond ourselves, to reach out to others with the same goals and desires to change (or die trying..) what no longer serves us.
I was born in Italy, living there at the moment, in the middle of the Squalor and Poverty that has taken Europe by storm, I know that we don't need to live this way, that there are alternatives to Poverty, Fear and Violence.
I know that for some reason we have sucked so far at finding them - but they exist, because each problem is interwoven with its solution, we just have to work harder at finding them.
I am interested in Psychology, World Affairs, Politics, Photography, looking forward to more sharings with you all
Fata
Did You Know?
Fata Morgana is the Italian name for Morgan le Fay (meaning "Morgan the Fairy"), a sorceress of medieval legends. This sister of the legendary King Arthur is sometimes portrayed as the ruler of the island paradise Avalon and is said to have had a number of magical powers, with which she caused a great deal of trouble. Among her powers, say some versions of the legend, was the ability to change shape, and she has been blamed for causing complex mirages over bodies of water, especially in the Strait of Messina. Today we know that such optical illusions are really caused by atmospheric conditions, but we still sometimes use "fata morgana" as a synonym of "mirage."

Thanks Synapse!
I took this picture from a site that explained the phenomenon of 'fatamorgana', didn't know it could be used colloquially as in the example of the Merriam Webster dictionary
'"After driving for days," wrote Marisol, "we finally caught sight of the Rocky Mountains, rising above the horizon like a fata morgana."
Fairies rock!
