Dewey’s Dugout – Roam around the world

Take it from me, if you show up alone and late to a Major League Baseball game or an NBA or College Basketball game - with a seat in the middle of a row - people will give you funny looks. But if you’ve done this, say 200 hundred times in the past 20 years, and always in “Seat 13”, then you get pretty comfortable and confident with yourself, in this otherwise awkward situation, and you can have a great time.

You see I travel alone with my work and this is exactly what I do. I show up to an event and ask for “Seat 13” in the best section available. When I make my way to my seat, and all those straying eyeballs are back on the game, then it’s my time to look around and see who’s in “Dewey’s Dugout”

Now, anybody that knows anything about sporting events knows that there are many types of fans attending. Here are a few that I seem to run into the most frequently:

The serious fan – If you are looking to chat you gotta hate these guys!!
The drunken fan – you gotta hate these guys even more!!
Clueless guy there with his buddies – who let’s these guys in??
The hot chick there to be seen with her new boyfriend – what’s not to like??
Father/Parents with their children, making memories –the best!!
Old Timers that know the history of the city, team and the world – these guys are gold!!

Anyway, since I’m the mayor of “Dewey’s Dugouts” I’m usually pretty good at bonding over whatever remains of the game in question and walk away with a great story or two. So grab some peanuts, order a beer and let me tell you what’s been going on in “Dewey’s Dugout”!!
