My First Blog ; Who Am I

Hello Everyone.! Good day!
I'm new to this kind of Platform so I'm introduce myself. I'm Daisy Mae Flores, 24 years old from Cagayan de Oro City. A solo parent and a teacher by profession. I'm so grateful to be here at steemit were I could holistically develop my skills in writing.

I may not be an expert nor a good writer but I know I have the ability to express my feelings and emotions through writing inspirational stories that could give a moral lesson to the reader.

First, I would like to thanks @antonette my very supportive mentor of mine who inspires, encourages, and supports me to join here. I met her a year ago as talent manager to a live streaming app where I work as one of her live streamers . That was my part-time job before while waiting for the result of my Licensure Examination for Teacher as well as taking care of my daughter at the time. Then, when she introduced me to this kind of work it caught my attention and excitement to write and share my inspirational experiences in life to the people around here.

I am a woman with big dreams in life . In my childhood years I dream to be teacher to educate the young minds of children. I pursue my dreams and was graduated with my Bachelor's degree last 2017 at they same time I was pregnant. After graduation I couldn't take the Licensure Examination for Teacher immediately due the same month where I gave birth to my first child. A month after we broke up with the father of my child, and I went to postpartum depression due to the situation occurred. I made myself strong for my child and made her my inspiration to strive harder to achieved my goals in life. After a year I decided to take the exam for the first time and the results was that I failed as well as the second time around. Because of my failures everything changed people judged, discriminated, criticized, bullied, and hated me especially to those people who know my situation. With that I lost my self-esteem and went into a depression and I failed to meet my goals but then I realized not to mind them at all and life must go on.

To move forward I made myself busy every day and stayed away from people who don't value my life. I always pray to God that whatever his plan for me I'll wholeheartedly accept it. I strive to study hard as preparation to take the exam for the 3rd time. This time I claimed to pass because I felt that it would be my time to shine by God's Grace my prayers are answered I was so happy that I passed and been a Licensed Professional Teacher the first goal unlocked. Through that it now leads me on my path on the way to my career .

As of now I'm a volunteer teacher of Deped-ALS or (Alternative Learning System) here in our place. ALS is an educational program that is separate from a mainstream educational program and that is designed especially for students with academic or behavioral difficulties.

At first you need to find your students to enroll in ALS unlike to a formal school that students are really the one that go to school. Some of the students in ALS are living in urban areas where you need to visit them to provide an education.

Being a volunteer is not an easy job. You may encounter a lot of challenges everyday dealing with the learners. Regardless of the salary we don't have we really do our best to teach and facilitate learning especially to those learners who are dependent of the teachers. Some of them are living in urban areas where you need to visit, teach and give them the learning materials.

As a volunteer I really do time management to cater all my tasks and as a mother to my child. Despite of all the hardship, it's all worth it when you see your learners learned from you and even your child. I'm so blessed on what God given to me now.

Indeed, rough roads and messy past doesn't define who and what a person could possibly become. This will either make them stop and just give up or it will make them strive and prove that someday there will be light behind those darkest cloud. Life is as cruel as you think it is, so let that be an inspiration to strive more.

I'm excited to meet many friends here at steemit. I'm sure I can contribute something to this community and share my thoughts and opinions.
