Hi all, this is my first post. It's a pleasure to be a part of the Steemit community.
My name is Alex and I'm 22 years young! ;) #introduceyourself

I'd like to apologise for the formatting of this post before we get into it, I'm still learning!

I live in the beautiful countryside of Devon, South West England.
I'm a keen photographer specialising in Nature, Landscapes, and Wildlife

The increasing exposure of the level of censorship and control on centralised platforms like Facebook and YouTube has definitely created a noticeable purge, and a transition to alternative websites in recent months. Due to the restrictions placed upon people who speak out against the status quo, I felt the need to try to reach out to the alternative media in order to help add to the collective voice of the people! So let's just say I'm here to stay :)

I care deeply about the following topics:

War, Human Rights & Activism
Wildlife Extinction and Protection of Ecosystems
Climate Change, Environmental Damage and Pollution
Habitat Destruction

Dartmoor National Park, UK.

Part of my aim in the race against the time is to help bring awareness to important issues that we suffer as a species.
As well as to help shed some light on the advancements of technology in my local community, for those who are not specifically tech-minded. The health, social and environmental risks that come with 5G and A.I.

Right now, the system is attempting to evolve humanity through technology, so we can live in the Orwellian - Brave New smart grid that is being built all around us. This means that people who are already asleep in a society that is largely run on falsity and deceptions; illusions. Will be taken a step further away from themselves, and reality. Along with this, comes the inevitable transition to a fully government centralised, digital currency. That, we can probably all see coming.

Currently, we are being taught how to live through the fourth industrial revolution that will evolve mankind.

What is that exactly?
Well, the World Economic Forum has explained it, sort of.

"The very idea of a human being some kind of natural concept is really going to change. Our bodies will be so high-tech that we won't really be able to distinguish between what's natural and artificial. The fourth industrial revolution brings together digital, physical and biological systems..."

Another topic that is at the front of my mind at the moment is China's "One Belt One Road Strategy". My university invited me as a videographer to attend a trip to China for 2 weeks last year, where I attended The Global Festival of Learning in Beijing. The theme of the festival was Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and the speakers discussed China's new economic Silk Road, biometrics, and a handful of other technological innovations.

When you really dig deep and look into these things, you'll find that they are all linked.
I will be discussing all these issues in future posts.

In short,

I think there is a lot of potential for Steemit as a decentralised social media platform, and photography/photojournalism is one great way of spreading a message, making people think.

A wise man once said - "a picture speaks a thousand words..." - Which is a little cliché, sorry, but it's true!

So that's it, I wanted to keep this relatively short because I'm somewhat modest and don't enjoy writing about myself!
I'd rather spend my time commenting and sharing important information for you beautiful people to consume :)
