Hello All! Books, Ninjas and Your Memory

During my free time I do some volunteer work with special needs young adults. We'll play trivia and a few especially love trading card games and that is where this idea of me coming on here spawned from. This one guy in particular had trouble remembering what his favorite cards did and that set me on a journey to see if I could find something to help him out.

I did find something that helped him but it's funny how when you think you're the one who is doing the helping you are the one being helped the most. I found myself using what I was trying to teach him. I ended using a graphic novel he loved reading as the base to try and help him remember the cards.

To be honest I wish I knew about and put some of these memory tricks to use when I was in school. They would have helped me out immensely. They are nothing new but I figured if I could reach out help one more person and maybe get people to read a little more it would be worth it. Books are a large part of my career and I wanted to see if I could inspire more people to read, engage their minds and hopefully show them how to remember what they read. I'm looking to keep learning on here as well and get to know the community.

Since I'm particularly fond of mysteries and ciphers of all types my first venture is to speak about Agatha Christie and her mysterious disappearance and lead in to her “Murder on the Orient Express” and when all is said and done you should be able to recall all of the main characters, a bit about them, the plot, the publishing date and never forget the author or the titles name in about a half hour. Oh, and I put June 2018 instead of a specific date because I got tired of having to write over again and take a new photo when I didn't get a chance to make a post on that day! So, I figured I'd simplify it. Take care all.

Till then I'll throw in a simple cipher for you as well:

7,8 - 5, 46, 7, 11 - 4,20, - 13, 19,7

Hello bookninja! Welcome to Steemit! Hope you'll like the community here. As a start, here are 5 tips that we believe will be helpful to you:

  1. Keep your passwords safe: Unlike conventional sites, Steemit has 4 types of passwords. Each offers varying degrees of access to your account, so know where and when to use each of them. Also, make sure to keep them all safe and secure.
  2. Get Steem rewards: When writing a post, you'll have the option to choose how to receive your reward: "Default 50%/50%" or "Power Up 100%". As of this moment, choosing Default 50%/50% is the better option. But this can change over time. Check our post to know more.
  3. Upvote wisely: When upvoting, wait at least 30 minutes after the post is published to maximize your curation reward. Also, make sure not to upvote too much too fast so as not to drain your voting power.
  4. Know your Steem, Steem Dollars and Steem Power: Steem and Steem Dollars are the 2 main currencies here. Convert and power up more Steem into Steem Power so you can have higher values on your upvotes.
  5. Have Fun and Enjoy!
