I'm coming out Steemit! I LOVE ART, SONG, DANCE, & SPIRITUALITY

in #introduceyourself7 years ago (edited)

Hi, I’m Andrea. This is my introduction post and the first one! I'm here to share with you why I'm beginning this chapter of my life on Steemit. My friends Carrie Allen, Chris Roberts, and Bennett Italia have been sharing for some time here and are having so much fun. We all want to see more artists expressing in the world, a chance for us to be seen, heard, and appreciated.

*Side note: handwriting has never been my thing so forgive my childish writing! I have other talents. He he.

Why am I here? Because I am a closet bundle of creativity!!! Born a Virgo with a Leo moon, I naturally have always loved being in the spotlight. I even got on stage to sing in 4th grade, "Let's Get Physical". Did I mention Olivia Newton John was my idol? Yep. Here I am with the hairdo and everything.

From the age of 4 until I was in my early 20's I was a ballerina. In this particular picture I was the one with the pink dress who was only one and two years younger than the rest. I was born tiny and I am still tiny. Growing up in our small midwestern town, the highlight of our year was the big dance recital.

Point is: I LOVE art in all forms and am excited to share my paintings, songs, writing, dance, and we'll see what else!?

Meet our family pictured here Christmas Eve 2017 at the Haidakhandi Universal Ashram:
Me: Andrea, husband: Chris, daughter: Uma, and son: Soma.

We are extremely creative and would love to share in a place that honors diversity while we collectively making this a better place for future generations. This is awesome! More to come from all of us unique, humorous, innovative, and spiritually connected beings. I'm the first one though!

The kids are getting older (now 11 and 15) and there is no reason for me to make excuses or hide. I feel it in my whole being to express with the world what is in my heart, my mind, and my Spirit coming through. It's like I have no choice. I may have gotten away with living the daily mommy grind and even the school/college grind but this is a new and wonderful time for expression. (Picture above was taken 10 years ago of Soma age 1 with me)

Uma and I were dressed up for a dance party a couple of years ago. I was ecstatic to be sporting a purple wig and my blingy leggings. Yes, purple is my absolute FAVORITE color and I truly enjoy getting dressed up. About 3 years ago or so I decided to embrace my wild, dressy uppy self.

For about 18 years I was in an anti-society, anti-foo-foo, spiritually motivated existence. It was what was needed for that time and I still go there but I'm loving this coming out of the closet, den, shack, whatever it is. Did I mention I went to college studying Fashion in Chicago? Yep. I was all about dressing as weird as I could. I was a redhead in my early 20's as you can see in the picture above.

After college I was searching for a more spiritual existence. I became interested in metaphysics which evolved into more traditional earth based ceremonies. I learned to pray and connect with people, and all of the beauty of this Earth in a way I had not experienced before. My husband Chris and I have been involved in and sharing what we have learned from Native American Church Ceremonies. Here we pray with the sacred sacrament of the divine cactus peyote. This tradition has been the foundation for a global family.

So what is it that I do now? Through visions and a true knowingness of what I need to do, I am dedicated to uplifting the Feminine. It is time in the story of our beautiful existence here on Mother Earth to inspire others and also to be inspired. Buffalo Goddess has birthed from the other realms. This is a home for all to touch that place in ourselves connecting to qualities of nurturing, wild wisdom, creativity, intuition, and even the darkness where transformation takes place.

Visit my site soon which is currently under construction: www.BuffaloGoddess.com. See me on Facebook, and I'm also new on Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.

Nowadays, when I have the time I enjoy reading about ancient Prehistoric Goddess cultures, Tao te Ching, sacred stories, Indigenous Traditions, practical tools for living in a balanced way, and whatever else peaks my curiosity. Here are some of my favorites. I can be obsessed with fitness and presently am feeling completely exhilarated every day. I also feel it is important to feed my body temple whole foods. This feels in alignment with who I really am. What I want to do more of is dancing, painting, writing, and singing. Good thing I'm here now!

We live in one of the most beautiful places on EARTH!!! There are other really awesome places that have more comfortable weather, less mosquitos, places to dine out, very large bodies of water, etc….. It’s one of those things that when you do actually get to see the world you appreciate what you do have and see it for what it truly is. That’s why I need to get out of town every 4 to 6 months (at least). Crestone, Colorado is where we live which is a high mountain desert in Southern Colorado. Not too many people, known for a multitude of spiritual centers, super safe for raising a family, some of the best hiking, and we even have a health food store in our tiny, end of the road town. It’s unique to say the least.

I would like to invite you to follow me, upvote, Steemit, I'm learning the lingo here. I look forward to getting to know you and let's support one another. I am doing my best in the moment to give it a go. See ya!
