My Introduction Post to Steemit

Hello, everyone.

My name is Alan. I live in Valparaiso, Indiana - approximately one hour from Chicago, Illinois. With the exception of 19 years living in North Carolina, I have spent my entire life living in Northern Indiana. I have one older brother, one older sister, a younger step-sister and a younger step-brother - all of whom I love dearly. I have no children of my own (other than my calico cat), but adore my three nephews and one niece (The oldest is 21, The youngest is my niece, who is almost 8).

I am a recent graduate of Western Governors University (U.S) with a Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity / Information Security. However, as I'm certain it has with many worldwide, the employment environment created by the COVID-19 Pandemic has severely hampered efforts to gain steady entry-level employment in my chosen field. For now, I earn a living remotely freelancing by testing/assessing websites and web applications for vulnerabilities and performance.

While my expertise is, as expected, technology, I will not limit myself to that area and hope to contribute in other communities, such as food and motivation.

I discovered Steemit via an external blog post that linked to a video interview with the CEO of Steemit. I am truly excited to be a Steemit member/contributor and cannot wait to provide value by engaging with fellow Steemit members in positive fashion.
