"A business owner can join one or several groups at a time, for example a Meetup.com community, all varieties of sports leagues and clubs, service organizations that help the needy, or just fun social groups that go hiking or bicycling together. It's all about networking, no matter what groups you join. But there's also an element of learning about other people's occupations, lifestyles and interests." Madhani also noted that networking within the groups (online) is just as important as attending events. 2. Social Media Giveaways

When I asked about the smartest ways to build one's brand with a new audience in mind, Arshad pointed out that, "Social media giveaways are fun, inexpensive, and dynamic methods for putting your brand front and center, especially when you're aiming the message toward new customers who may never have heard of your company. Social media is what you make of it, and using it for brand-related giveaways is one of the best ways to leverage any social media platform. There's really no end to the creative uses you can make of social, and new platforms are popping up all the time." To expand on that, Arshad noted social giveaways when used in conjunction with an influencer can be effective as well. Tapping into the reach of established and prominent social accounts is a winning formula.

3. Launch an Affiliate Marketing Campaign

"You can also gain new customers by launching an affiliate marketing campaign," Madhani explained. "Affiliate marketing programs are arrangements where a retailer/seller pays a direct commission to a third-party that brings a new customer to the retailer/seller. I've used affiliate campaigns that have brought clients to me, and all I had to do was offer a commission to affiliates, and a strong offer for them to promote.

4. Include Your Product in a Subscription Box

Advice from Arshad Madhani about subscription boxes is straightforward: "You should include your product in a subscription box if possible. Subscription box marketing is growing at a strong rate, year over year. When customers agree to have physical products sent to their homes or offices on a monthly basis, they become long-term, loyal buyers in most cases. The most common, and popular types of subscription box products are in the food, beauty, apparel, lifestyle, children's, and pet-related markets. But whatever your physical product is, having it as part of a regular subscription box program is one way to build long-term customers. Don't forget that you can simply include just a discount card or small trial-size item in a related product's subscription box, insert-based marketing can be wildly effective and much cheaper than giving away expensive product at scale."
