Addiction is the only prison that locks you on the inside -Says a famous quote.
It is a mental disorder that causes a type of relaxation in the brain. It is the need for habit forming substances such as alcohol or drugs. Addiction is a devil that resides within us.
Addiction is easy to develop, but hard to quit. According to a survey, nearly 60% of the youth in the present day are addicted to either drugs, alcohol or smoking. Quitting addiction is very important for a healthy, long and prosperous life.
But how?
Developing a self-help manual or getting some inspiration to get rid of it is some of the best answers to these questions.

Some of the helpful tips are:

1. Get some self-help books

Whether you want to quit something or start something, friends are always a reason. They can help you through this too. Just tell them about your decision and tell them why you took it. They will take up the rest.

3. Distraction

This can be the most helpful way, as anyone can benefit from a long list of distractions that can take their mind away from any sort of addiction. Try your hobbies during your free times or try learning something new that can keep you engaged all day and leave you tiring at the end of the day.

4. Keep a record

Psychologists say keeping a record journal provides you self- motivation and inspiration for quitting addictions as you can track your progress.

5. Keep away from triggers

Triggers that lead to places and meeting people who can make you indulge in these should be kept away during the quitting period.

In psychology, it is said that any addiction is only a game inside our brain. When you consume something such as alcohol, it is not an addiction. But if it becomes difficult for you to stay without alcohol, then it is called an addition. But alcohol does not contain anything that will otherwise attract you chemically for its over or regular consumption; as the urge is developed by the brain. So, you can only convince yourself to stay away from it. Make yourself understand what the game is all about.
