Innovation Boom is a Fraud

I work in a field that spouts the virtues of continual improvement, advanced thinking and always wanting to drive the unit cost of the commodities being mined down to the lowest possible point.

This is all well and good, and its just simple good economics as for too long people in my industry have basically raped and pillaged the mining sector with over the top wages and horrendous profit margins.

Since the GFC everyone talks about cost cutting and that only the best ideas will survive the hard times.
THIS IS RUBBISH!!

I have a product that can save 1 Australian mining company on average $15Million in the first year of impementation. You'd think that it'd fly off the floor. But its not, its a screaming match with site managers to even get 1 onto a site.
Why? Humans are gutless. Humans are afraid of change and will stick with old outdated methods just in case something should happen to go wrong and there is a spotlight on them possible loosing their job.

The world has plenty more innovation available to it than is currently being used, its just normal people are too scared to ever use it so it'll disappear with the sands of time.
