If you are like us, you are likely to want to keep all of your important information from getting into the wrong hands to help protect your identity. That is why we decided to purchase a new shredder for our office, from Best Buy. We were looking for a little bit larger one, than the desktop one that we already have and that is why we chose this model from "init". The main problem that you always have is that with needing a little privacy comes a price tag, and that tag is around $130 at Best Buy. The other paper shredders that cuts ¼” strips, we did not trust them too well, so we purchased the crosscut model.

Description
This stands approximately 19.2” (high) x 13.2” (deep) x 15” (wide) and weighs only 20.5 pounds. It also has a 5 gallon removable waste container. You can up to 10 pages per time that you use this, it will shred everything from credit cards to CD’s and even papers with staples still attached. There are two openings, one of which is the main opening and it is 9” x 5/16" wide and the other one is for credit cards and CD's, this shredder will stop automatically when you are done feeding the papers in. This will convert all of your documents to confetti size pieces of paper. This also comes with a 1 year warranty on the whole unit and a 1 year warranty on the parts and labor.

On the top of this shredder you have three LED indicator lights, a green power light, a yellow door open light, and red overheated or over load light. This also has the auto feature in the forward position, and a manual reverse switch. This has no manual forward operation. The waste receptacle is a five gallon with a see through window that will allow you to see the level of confetti that you have inside of the bin.

Experience
We have been using this now for about six months now and we have noticed that we can shred a lot more papers than before. Because this makes the papers into confetti, you can fit more into the waste container. We also love the fact that we do not have to turn this on and off every time that we want to use it. I never really timed it but it seems to do it in a very swift motion, when you start to feed the paper in then in a matter of seconds it swallows them and spits them out in little confetti pieces. This also has an overload protection device that when you put too many papers in, it will automatically stop. Another nice advantage of this shredder is that it has a overload indicator light, when this is overloaded the light, will light up and you cannot go any further until you either empty or undo the jam that is causing the overload in the motor of the shredder.

They do make disposable bags that make easier on you when you need to empty this. You will not have to worry about burning this unit up because it is designed for shredding papers several times a day. I have even forgotten to remove paper clips and staples and this shredder just tore them up. I had my daughter use to shred papers because she just loves doing that, she was doing it for over 45 minutes and it did not overheat. This unit will shut off automatically and will not overheat. This is a little top heavy and if you tip it over and on to your feet it will hurt. Cleaning is a breeze and does more than we expected, this still makes a little noise. But not half as much as our old model, but what shredder doesn't.

Conclusion
There is a one year warranty that this comes with; I do not foresee any reason you would have to use it. It is very powerful and has done an excellent job shredding all of our legal documents. You can even stick whole pieces of junk mail inside of this. Even though our old one was still working this one goes well beyond the call of duty. I can give this five out of five stars for durability and working ability and most of all it does not make a lot of noise.
