Do We Finally Have The Technology To Be Free?

in #informationwar7 years ago (edited)

In my mind a Utopian world is one in which we the people are free from rulers. What if we the people could voluntarily give and take our consent to representatives at any time. In the past the technology didn’t exist to do this on a large scale in real time. With block chain technology we could have a public ledger to track the consent of the people.

Most people don’t want to bogged down with politics, look at budgets and do city planning. They would prefer to have to have someone else do that for them. What I am suggesting is instead of an election every 4-5 years. The people at any time can vote for a representative or take their vote from them. If they want to vote for a bill themselves they would be allowed.

Human society needs structure to function. From a management point of view, the hierarchy is pyramid shaped. From a leadership point of view the pyramid is inverted. The higher your position the greater your responsibilities and more leadership is required to be successful.

Instead of government robbing people at gunpoint to pay for services people don’t want. We could voluntarily crowd source for certain public services. I would be willing to donate a percentage of my income for certain services, such as defense or infrastructure. I don’t want to pay for interventionist wars or bridges to no where.

Using block chain we could use the public ledger for transparency. We could vote someone to represent us or directly vote projects ourselves. We could directly fund a service or allocate resources to our representative to use at their discretion. I’ve been harping on this in other post, in a society with individual rights and freedoms the representatives wouldn’t have power over you. They couldn’t pass legislation that infringes on your rights and freedoms.

I suspect most of the funds would go to defense, some public infrastructure, a judicial system. Its not that there is no rules or public systems in a libertarian society. It just move the power from bureaucrats and their puppet masters into the hands of the people. A very limited voluntary government. We would probably need to call it something else since it wouldn’t govern over people it would represent them.
