On Saturday 09 June 2018, via Liputan6.com, - Russian President Vladimir Putin recently guested a 4.5 hour annual talk show. On that occasion he talked about many things, ranging from fuel price increases, to the World Cup, to the question of a figure who would replace him as ruler of the Kremlin.

Putin also talks about the issue of World War III that will happen in the future. He accused the United States of damaging the balance of global nuclear power. The 65-year-old man also criticized the US decision to pull out of a deal on an antibalistic missile in 2002.

"The fear of destruction that is believed to have been triggered (nuclear weapons) so far has the power to hold and force military forces to respect each other," Putin said, as quoted by The Week website on Saturday (9/6/2010).

"However, the US decision to stay out of the missile defense agreement is an attempt to weaken this balance, but our efforts in developing new weapons will defend it," Putin continued.

On Victory Day in Red Square this year, the Russian military showed its strength, including a number of newly manufactured combat equipment. Regarding sanctions imposed by post-Western annexation of Moscow on Crimea in 2014, Putin said it was clear for Russia to defend its interests in the economy and defense, albeit not in a rude manner.

Putin argues, sanctions are an attempt to overcome Russia. "Russia is considered a threat and as a tough competitor," he said.

When asked whether prolonged sanctions in Russia will trigger World War III? Vladimir Putin cites what has been said by renowned scientist Albert Einstein.

"I do not know what weapons will be used in World War III, but if World War IV until that happens, people will fight by using wood and stone," he said.

What Einstein said depicts the darkness of World War III until it happens on Earth. Millions of people will be victims, the damage so severe that people return to the 'stone age'.

Putin added that the interests of any country should not be protected by confrontation.

"The understanding that World War III could be the end of civilization must make us refrain from taking extreme measures in the very dangerous international arena for modern civilization," added Vladimir Putin.
