Ciudad Bolívar is a Venezuelan city and capital of Bolívar State, southeast of Venezuela. It was changed for the last time and renamed Santo Tomás de la Nueva Guayana in the Angostura del Orinoco on May 22, 1764, and it would be renamed in June 1846 as Ciudad Bolívar (due to this date can not be considered as the foundation of Ciudad Bolívar). It has a population of 567,953 inhabitants. Between 23 ° C and 37 ° C its temperature is annually.
Also known as Paseo Falcón is a must. Located in the heart of the city and with a magnificent view of the river, it allows visitors to "walk by" and relax while doing so. Sellers and artisans use these spaces to offer articles. There is a viewpoint from where you can have a nice view of the river, the Angostura Bridge and also its islands.

The Paseo Orinoco, a kilometer and a half long boardwalk that crosses the north end of Ciudad Bolívar and is an unmissable attraction for its view of the river, was evacuated yesterday for the second time in less than 15 days. The tributary reached more than 17.60 meters above sea level, forcing officials of Civil Protection and the government to place sandbags to prevent overflow in that low area of the capital. The river has already exceeded the most important floods registered so far in that city in 1943 and 1976, when there was severe damage in several sectors and is 60 centimeters from reaching the level of red alert, said one of the PC officials, who said that in the forties there was no boardwalk, which was built years later, for which greater damages occurred. "According to the projections, that alert can be presented in one or two days." He clarified that the increase in the flow of the Orinoco, such as a flat river, is sustained but slow.

The flood of the Orinoco has also caused damage in Amazonas, Monagas, Apure and Delta Amacuro. In the first of the states, specifically in the capital Puerto Ayacucho there have been more than 5,000 victims and others affected who managed to leave the city to Apure, but lost their belongings.
In the affected entities, more than 20,000 employees were deployed.

Families in Puerto Ayacucho, Amazonas state, remain incommunicado due to the closure of La Chalana pass. Atabapo is under the waters.

Officials of Civil Protection of the Bolívar state were preparing yesterday to take care of the first affected ones of the municipalities Sucre, Cedeño, Heres and Caroní, after a new flood of the Orinoco river, that amaneció with six centimeters more and reached the level of 17.88 msnm. The rhythm experienced by the important tributary in the last two weeks makes the authorities presume that today it will reach the level of red alert, located at 18 masl, since the rains continue in the southern states.

He noted that the city of San Fernando de Atabapo remained 95% covered by the overflowing waters of the flow.
