Eight houses were reportedly burnt in a fire during a fire at the Dewantara police dormitory, Lhokseumawe Regional Police Station, in Kreueng Geukuh, North Aceh, Sunday night (6/28/2020).

The Lhokseumawe Police Chief through the Public Relations Head of Subdivision Salman Alfarasi said the fire was thought to have originated from an electrical short circuit that occurred in one of the houses in the dormitory at around 21:00 IWST earlier.
"Initially Aipda Hasriansyah saw thick smoke on the roof of Bripda T Aris Firmanda's house, then Aipda Hasriansyah told T Aris Firmanda's wife, Kartika," Salman said.

A moment later the electricity in the area went out.
"Suddenly and when Kartika opened the kitchen door, the person concerned saw that the fire had already burned down the kitchen and quickly spread to the house building," Salman said.
From there, the fire then ran into seven other houses.
There were no fatalities in this disaster. "For material losses also cannot be estimated," he said.

The fire was extinguished at around 23:00 West Indonesia Time with the help of PT PIM's extinguisher fleet totaling 4 units and 2 units of the North Aceh Regency Government fleet.

"Until now the Lhokseumawe Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Eko Hartanto along with the Lhokseumawe Regional Police chief are still on location to control the situation and situation," he said.
