The City of Flowers
Cordoba is associate ancient town within the south of Kingdom of Spain, the previous Moorish capital. it is a virtual maze of winding streets, modern and antique merchandise, dotted by colourful low retailers, which, at night, move to the spontaneous beat of flamenco terpsichore. Here visitors can find the Calleja de las Flores, the street of flowers!!
The city is found on the banks of the Guadalquivir watercourse, and its quick access to the mining resources of the Sierra Morena (coal, lead, zinc) satisfies the population’s desires.
During the tenth century, it had been the second richest town within the Muslim empire (after Baghdad), to that learned men from all of Europe came to review throughout the eleventh and twelfth centuries.
The city eventually declined, especially during Renaissance times.
In the eighteenth century, it had been reduced to only 20000 inhabitants.
The population and economy began to increase solely within the early twentieth century.
