From now on, I will post things related to my interest: art, psychology, poems, sexuality, gender, feminism, peace, short stories, photography, and my thoughts.

Oh, here's my self-summary:

My name is Silfana, 26 years old, and single. I'm Indonesian by nationality, and mixed of Malay, Turkish, East Asian, and Portuguese.

I studied psychology, and I want to use my experiences and knowledge to help others. One of my biggest dreams is to be a humanitarian worker and go around the world to work with needy people, refugees, children, women, etc.

I don't smoke, neither drink alcohol, nor do drugs, but I don't think I'm better than anybody else. I believe that everyone has good values in themselves no matter what religion or belief they're beholden to. I support feminism, gender equality, human rights, and justice for all. I'm open-minded, I respect diversity and I treat people well.

What I’m doing with my life:

My jobs are mostly related to human rights, gender, youth empowerment, disaster risk reduction, community mental health, and psychosocial intervention. I provide counseling, too.

In the past, I worked as research assistant to a PhD student in a small and remote island in the border of Indonesia. I love this job. It involved traveling, working, reading, meeting new people, making friends, exploring new places, etc.

Anyway, I like to share my knowledge and make people able to do what I do. Sometime I become an invited spokesperson in seminar, workshop, training, and socialization. I like sharing knowledge as well as building connection and networking with new people.

I have been volunteering since 2012; started as a volunteer in a special needs school, then selected as a representative of my country to volunteer in South East Asia Young Professionals Volunteer Corps Program in 2013, after that continuing to volunteer in International Humanity Foundation (IHF), Mental Hospital, and I co-founded a peace volunteering community in my town in 2015 and volunteering as a peace facilitator in an orphanage. The most recent one was volunteering in a post disaster area. My responsibilities were providing trauma healing program for 260 children in 3 villages, as well as trained our local volunteers to make this program sustainable.

The most exciting thing about volunteering is, yes, you don't get paid, but it gives you many things that money can't buy: love, friends, connections, experience, etc.

I’m really good at:

Singing in the bathroom, telling sarcasm and witty jokes, learning new languages, being empathetic and making people feel comfortable. Some say I'm a gifted listener.

Oh, I'm good at drawing, doodling, painting, and making face sketch, too.

I spend a lot of time thinking about:

Feminism, sexuality, spirituality, art, psychology, inequality, soulful growth, my life goals, how to travel while earning money at the same time, how to give significant impacts to communities.

My reasons of joining Steemit:
Firstly, I'm new into Steemit and know nothing about it. My friends suggested me to join Steemit because they said that Steemit is a good media to share my thoughts and other interesting stuffs that I make as well as getting connected to people around the world.

Yeayy, I like making friends! ;)
