Setnov Not Honest and Help Complete KTP-El Cases

Founder of Anticorruption Madrasah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak said that it is normal that the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) rejected the request of Defendant Setya Novanto to become justice collaborator (JC).

However, Dahnil said the KPK should still investigate the names called Setnov during the trial.
"Setnov is still not honest and wants to help solve the case, so it is difficult for him to become JC," he told Republika.co.id, Monday (24/4).
The Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Youth Leadership Center continued, however, the KPK needs to develop the names mentioned by defendant KTP-el Setya Novanto corruption case during the trial period.
"Yes, the betting of the KPK precisely on the mention of those names," he said.
Thus, according to him, it is important for the KPK to develop an investigation of the names. In addition, he considered that there should be supervision of the KPK prosecutors not to carry out the canalization of the KTP-el case only to Novanto.
As is known, former House Speaker Setya Novanto (Setnov) will undergo trial verdict corruption case procurement project electronic card (KTP-el) on Tuesday (24/4). Setnov's lawyer Maqdir Ismail says his client is in good health and is ready to hear the verdict read by the Corruption Court of Justice of Corruption Court (Tipikor) Jakarta.
"The trial is scheduled to start at 10:00 am," said Corruption Court (Corruption) Jakarta Sunarso Corruption Court spokesman when confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday (24/4).
Lawyer Setya Novanto (Setnov), Maqdir Ismail also expressed his client's readiness in facing verdicts. "Mr. Setnov is good, hopefully there is no serious problem with his health.We are ready to listen to the verdict that will be read by the judges," said Maqdir Ismail.
The decision hearing will be held in Jakarta court of corruption court in Central Jakarta District Court led by Chairman of the panel of judges and Chairman of PN Jakpus Yanto with members of Frangki Tambuwun assemblies, Emilia Djajasubagja, Anwar and Ansyori Syaifudin.
In addition to the chairman of the panel of judges, four other judges are the same judge who convicted the three other defendants in the KTP-E case: former Director General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) Kemendagri Irman, former Director of Information Management of Population Administration (PIAK) Kemendagri Sugiharto and businessman Andi Narogong.
In this case, Setya Novanto was charged 16 years in prison plus a fine of Rp1 billion subsider 6 months confinement. The Prosecutor (Prosecutor) of the KPK also requested that Setya Novanto be required to pay replacement money in accordance with the money he received that was $ 7.435 million and minus Rp5 billion that Setnov had returned to the KPK.
In addition to corporal punishment, fines and obligations to pay replacement money, the KPK Prosecutor also demanded the lifting of Setnov's right to public office for 5 years after completing his sentence.
In the case of corruption KTP-E, Setnov valued himself worth 7.3 million US dollars and watches Richard Mille worth 135 thousand US dollars of total state losses amounting to Rp2, 3114 trillion from the budget amounting to Rp5, 9 trillion.
Related to this case, there are already three people sentenced namely the former Director General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) Kemendagri Irman sentenced to 15 years in prison plus a fine of Rp500 million subsider 6 months confinement; former Director of Information Management of Population Administration (PIAK) Kemendagri Sugiharto was sentenced to 15 years and fined Rp400 million subsider 6 months confinement and businessman Andi Narogong sentenced to 11 years imprisonment plus a fine of Rp1 billion subsider 6 months confinement.
