World Atomic Energy Agency Supports Indonesia to Build Nuclear Reactor
The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Yukiya Amano, said that his side provides support to the Indonesian government to build a nuclear reactor.
Amano, who met after meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia A. M Fachir at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the construction of nuclear reactor is the right of the Indonesian government. The IAEA has no right to ban it.
"It all depends on Indonesia. We do not interfere in other countries' decision-making. It's up to you to decide (to build or not), "Amano said on Monday (5/2/2018).
Nuclear energy, he said, has the advantage of producing electricity. Namely, capable of producing electrical energy with the lowest carbon.
The IAEA official from Japan made sure that his organization would help Indonesia with regard to the construction of a nuclear reactor if the final decision was made.
"The IAEA will help if you've decided. We will help to use nuclear energy safely and sustainably. No need to hurry (in making decisions), consider carefully matured various elements, "he said.
As is known, the IAEA is an international organization that aims to encourage the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. This agency works to prevent the use of nuclear energy used for military purposes.
