Bibi's tomb is the Taj Mahal of Maharashtra
Many times it happens that by looking at some place, we miss some other place. We think we have seen this place somewhere. For example, if you go to a hill station, then you will get the idea of another hill station by looking at the views there. One such place is Bibi's Tomb, which by seeing you will feel that you are seeing the Taj Mahal of Agra. Bibi's tomb is also called the Taj Mahal of Maharashtra.
India's second Taj Mahal
This mausoleum is located in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal in Agra for his Begum Mumtaz, who saw that Aurangzeb's son and Shah Jahan's grandson Azam Shah, inspired by the Taj Mahal, built Bibi's tomb in memory of his mother Dilras Bano Begum. It was built between 1651 and 1661 AD. It is also called the second Taj Mahal of the country.
Tomb was built for 7 lakh rupees
It is said that the cost of building it then came to Rs 700,000, while the cost to build the Taj Mahal came to Rs 3.20 crore at that time. This is the reason why Bibi Ka Maqbara is also called 'Taj Mahal of the poor'. The Taj Mahal of Agra was built with pure white marble, while the dome of Bibi's tomb was built with marble. The rest of the tomb is made of plaster, so that it looks like marble in appearance.
