My hometown

in #india5 years ago

So this is my first post on Steemit.
And what better way to start than by introducing my hometown

I come from India, I was born in Mumbai but my parents are originally from a small town in Rajasthan.
I have now moved across the globe for my studies and education but there is always a small part of me that yearns to go back and rediscover my hometown.

I do have the fortune to visit for my holidays however and I thought I would share some photos from my last visit.
It was a family trip to Rajasthan.

Our flight was from Singapore to Mumbai.
Once we landed in Mumabi, we took a train to Rajasthan.

Oh how I love sleeper trains - one of the most uncomfortable places I have slept in yet somehow get the most sound sleep, only to be woken up early by the street vendors selling fresh tea and pakoras.

And yes, that is a Pau Bhaaji (droolworthy, I am sorry)

Once in Rajasthan, we travelled to these magnificent temples.
I mean the sheer glory - look at the marvellous architecture - it baffles me that this was made hundreds of years ago with such limited machinery.

Is always such a humbling experience.

And if you thought that was good..check this one out

Oh Rajasthan, you have my heart.

We then visited a family farm - with tractors, fields of fresh veg and crops and of course, horses.
I somehow remember feeling at peace, at one with nature here, surrounded by laughter and memories and friends and family.

And of course, we made our meals there from scratch using the vegetables growing there.

Anyone hazard a guess what the vegetable in the picture is?

Farm to table, in its truest sense :)

I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I enjoyed writing it, and I hope it brought back similar feelings of nostalgia for your hometown if you too, like me are a wandering soul.
