ईश्वर ने सबको अलग-अलग बनाया है। कोई
दो व्यक्ति एक जैसे नहीं होते। सबकी अपनी-अपनी
अहंकृति होती है, प्रकृति होती है और आकृति होती
है। अपने-अपने संस्कार लेकर व्यक्ति जन्म लेता है।
उसी के अनुरूप उसका अपने ईश्वर से सम्बन्ध होता है। जीवन का आधार, यही सम्बन्ध होता है ।इसी आधार पर
जीवन बनता-बिगड़ता है। यही व्यक्ति की पहचान बनता है। इसकी विशेषता यह है कि व्यक्ति सोच-समझकर इस सम्बन्ध
को तय करता है। सम्बन्धविहीन होकर भी जी सकता
है। यह व्यक्ति का निजी सम्बन्ध होता है । उसकी गुप्त
धरोहर की तरह गूढ़तम रहता है। वह किसी से भी इसकी
चर्चा नहीं करता । इस सम्बन्ध को जीवन भर पोषित करता है । जीवन्त बनाए रखता है । यही उसके नियम
कायदे तय करने का आधार बनता है। इसी से उसका
आचार-विचार तय होता है । वह अपने ईश्वर को कुछ
भी मान सकता है । रक्षक, पिता भाई मित्र स्वामी या
कुछ नहीं भी मान सकता। उसके सम्पूर्ण व्यक्तित्व निर्माण
का यही मूल है। इसी को व्यक्ति का धर्म कहा जाता
धर्म की परिभाषा में यह स्पष्ट है कि पहले व्यक्ति
धर्म को धारण करता है। इसके उपरान्त अर्थात जब
व्यक्ति अपने धर्म पर दृढ़ हो जाता है, तब धर्म व्यक्ति
को धारण कर लेता है । वह उसका रक्षक हो जाता है।
अधर्म के रूप में यही भक्षक बन जाता है। आज जितने
भी धर्म विश्व में दिखाई पड़ते हैं, मूलत: वे सभी
सम्प्रदाय की परिभाषा में सिमटकर रह गए। एक ओर
तो वे व्यक्ति प्रधान हो गए दूसरी ओर कट्टरवाद की
ओर अग्रसर होने लगे हैं। यह सब जीने की कला
सिखाते हैं। धर्म में प्रवर्त नहीं करते। आज तो ये धन से
भीप्रभावित होने लगे हैं। आवरण पर आवरण चढ़ाने
का कार्य कर रहे हैं। धर्म तो जीवन को मुक्त करने का
मार्ग है। आवरण हटाने का मार्ग है। आज तो धर्म स्वयं
में बंध का कारण बन कर रह गया है। कोई धर्म मुक्ति
का संदेश नहीं देता।
