RE: A proud moment for all Indians

When I read about this, it was so cool. The South Pole is the most likely location for human habitation and colonization…due to the many essential chemical compounds, especially water for human consumption and rocket fuel production.

And landing sites are incredibly hard to come by on the lunar south pole, it is covered with deep and jagged craters and trenches, it's almost in perpetual darkness, it has a very narrow line of sight to Earth for communications, and the lander's navigation system must have a very detailed topography mapping to land on a flat surface, so India making a successful landing is a phenomenal achievement!

Oh yeah, and it takes a lot more fuel to land on the lunar poles than it does for an equatorial landing.

Thank you for such deep reflection. Yes, this must have been a very tough job but they have achieved it and from here on many new things will discovered of space. Other nations will also now attempt doing the same and this will bring in new knowledge and hope for humanity
