The Best Websites for IELTS Practice
Hey folks.
I wanted to let you know about the best websites where you can practice and prepare for IELTS. I know that the internet is totally flooded with IELTS websites at the moment and, to be honest, most of them are just terrible. Honestly, most of these people can't even speak English properly and don't have a clue what IELTS examiners are looking for. They just make website, copy material, hand out bad advice, and try to make money from you.
Of course, if you are just learning to speak English then it is hard to know this. Some of these people have professional websites that look good and they act as though they are experts. They usually tell you to learn lots of vocabulary in order to improve faster, which is not bad advice, except that they will teach you pointless words and act as though there are "magic words" that can get you a certain band score. Many of these teachers are from India and Pakistan, and they can be very influential despite their very poor English level.
So in this post, I wanted to let you know about some good teachers who have excellent IELTS websites, where you can learn reliable information without false promises.
The 5 best IELTS websites are:
My IELTS Classroom
IELTS Simon
TED-IELTS
IELTS Liz
IELTS Advantage
Let me tell you a little more. The first one, My IELTS Classroom, is run by an ex-examiner called Shelly. She has a great course and gives out really realistic information. Her videos are fun and informative. Simon and Liz have been around for a long time and so you probably know them well already. Their websites are a bit basic but packed with great information. They are both true experts. TED-IELTS has the best writing correction service around and realistic advice for improving your writing score, while IELTS Advantage has a beautiful, professional website with materials and some free courses.
