LOOMIA — Smart textile technology
LOOMIA offers a multi-factor identity verification protocol that connects the physical world and the digital
world to prove that the physical you are the digital you. We do this by using personal data collected from your clothing, synchronized with an online profile and verified with a fingerprint. In short, we make sure that you are collecting personal data of what you wear.
The LOOMIA protocol guarantees that your personal data continues to belong to you. Instead of companies taking advantage of your identity, you can own and sell your data to brands, researchers, and other organizations that want to learn more about how you use their products and systems, creating a closed feedback loop without intermediaries. and allowing you to enjoy being yourself.
It works in conjunction with the LOOMIA Electronic Layer (LEL), a flexible flexible circuit built into textiles that can detect changes in the environment, such as heat and touch.
Users can transfer their data to a desktop application that allows them to manage and sell their data to market researchers.
The application is completely server-less and exploits the blockchain for data security and integrity.
In addition, LOOMIA TILE’s unique ability to associate an individual’s physical identity with their digital identity is an interesting starting point for a wide range of third-party integrations.
It makes it possible to build applications using LOOMIA technology to verify identity and facilitate secure payments in a passive and transparent way, without manual interaction or interface.
The LOOMIA TILE adapts to a LOOMIA docking station to recharge its battery, recharge the batteries of its associated LEL and connect to a computer with the Tile Platform application. When the LOOMIA mosaic recognizes the user’s fingerprint in the LOOMIA Dock, it is connected to the Tile Platform application, where it can choose to transfer data between
their TILE and their account, sell data, or simply reload their batteries without any other action.
All data is viewed in the Tile platform interface, where the user can view it before deciding which data to decrypt and sell. Data will only be available to interested parties once the user decides to sell it; the user will always
retain the right to choose which data they will sell, as well as when they will sell it, and to whom. For example, a user may choose to sell their biometric data for health and fitness purposes while retaining their location data.
dential. Buyers can encourage users to sell the type of data they find most useful by providing different types of rewards, and users can encourage brands to align with their lifestyle by selling their data for rewards they appreciate the most.
The pile of the tile platform is composed of three distributed applications working together, as shown in Figure 4:
Decentralized application for user interactions and data collection
Decentralized data storage for long-term housing and data recovery
Blockchain for distributed, verifiable and universal record keeping
In the end, the tile deck is designed to be storage agnostic. We are going to implement Storj’s integration with Blockstack, because Storj is currently the most robust and developed distributed storage platform. Storj creates encrypted parts of a file called fragments that are redundantly stored throughout the network.
The blockchain ensures that the zone files are correct by matching the hash of the file stored on the blockchain with the hash retrieved from the distributed storage. This allows users to log in and get the correct routing information to communicate with the rest of the network.
All LOOMIA products will be registered in the blockchain. In the post-manufacturing phase, a public / private key pair is generated for the product and the public address is written in the blockchain with the ID of that element. This address represents the owner of the product.
Buyers receive the private key from the blockchain address of the item when they buy the product. The buyer can then choose to update the address of the owner to one of his choices, or keep the address generated for him (which is less safe, but more convenient). The update method can of course be invokable only by the owner.
Before a user chooses to sell their data or not, the LOOMIA app classifies them into several categories, which allows users and buyers to be selective about the type of data they want to sell and acquire. Certain categories will be defined according to the conventions of the World Economics Forum for the classification of personal data.
THE TILE TOKEN
The TILE token is the monetary unit that provides access to the tile platform. For example, if a brand wanted to determine how many users wear their jackets, they would spend tokens to query the mosaic platform for usage data. Or, if a smart contract wants to reward users whose identity score exceeds a certain threshold, it can search for a user’s ID on the registry agreement that lists the score next to the address of the user. the user.
The TILE token will start as an Ethereum token ERC20, and like any Ethereum token, it can be freely transferred between users directly to the blockchain, without any dependence on the LOOMIA application. The TILE token can also be used by third-party applications that connect to the Tile platform.
