Skeiðarársandur – 1
This is the first post of a series on the sand desert Skeiðarársandur in South Iceland. I expect it to range over three or four instalments.
The images were taken in the month of December when the sun stays close to the southern horizon over the Atlantic Ocean. It was an extraordinary sight, the interplay of the glancing light with the ice, sand, and glacial streams below.
